Does anyone here like Rap?
Can anyone honestly answer no without giving it a chance first?
Its just like rock, it has different sub genres, so if you don't like one genre doesn't mean you won't like any other ones. I like Alice in Chains but hate Nirvana. I like Easy E but hate Soulja Boy.
Keep the flames to a minimum

Beastie Boys (And no, not only songs from GH and RB)
Linkin Park (Mike Shinoda)
That's basically it though.

Yeah, I only like the Beastie Boys' songs that are on GH and RB. lol
Mike Shinoda is awesome.
A little bit of T.I. is barely appreciable.
Yeah, that's about it.
Umm..otherwise, it sucks.
I'm more of a hard rock/metal type of guy.

I agree. I'm the same way.
Re: Does anyone here like Rap?
LP, Fort Minor (Mike Shinoda's rap group), Mars Ill, Hollywood Undead, Flobots (modern rock/rap...)
I like rap as long as it's underground. most of the commercial rap (50 cent, lil wayne etc) is sh*t.

Eminem (pre-Encore)
And a bit of:
Insane Clown Posse

Don't ever, ever judge rap or hip-hop from Soulja Boy or 50 Cent.

Anything after the nineties is crap. Some stuff before is listenable.

I can stand a few rap songs. But I don't remember them. Overall, no. I don't like rap.

Re: Does anyone here like Rap?
I like a bit of underground rap, and I like all the hip-hop from the 80s.
I also like some mainstream artists, like Kanye, some of 50 cent's stuff. But most of them are pretty awful.
And of course I love the beastie boys. I hate the Hollywood Undead though. Indescribably bad.
So yeah, I enjoy it from time to time. I don't mind blasting Christmas in Hollis every now and then.

I like stuff like cybotron, Afrika Bambaataa, Mantronix, 2pac, FSOL's We Have Explosive, Beastie Boys, and some stuff that pretty much genres that were influenced by hip hop like trip hop and Breakbeat, so i'd have to say a big yes!

Re: Does anyone here like Rap?
shame they killed the good name of rhythm and poetry with the totally contradictory 'Gansta rap'
used to be black punk - now its pretty much black pop
a few good artists around still though im sure..
Sage Francis & Immortal Technique have something to say worth hearing/considering
those other weird fella's though, 'chattin' about their bling, cars, women & money are the total opposite of the original meaning/cause/roots
or am i confusing 'hip-hop' with rap...
meh' yeah rap can be very deep, meaningful & powerful - poetical & political
usually very un-creative as far as music is concerned but i guess punk always was.
One thing i could never understand is who actually buys this 'pop' stuff?
lets take that old gangsta hip-pop performer, Eminem for example.. now even he must know that no adult is not going to be interested in his lamo views, stories or songs
they just aren't interesting & have no meaning
so he's selling this stuff only to the kids? hmm.
thats just weird. very weird.
sell your crappy life story to kids. go on.. its fun.
...
Yes, i do like rap.
as long as its still politcal, poetical & has an interesting point to make
otherwise its just simple repetitve contradictory noise. like 99.3% of "music"
