The Twist Nobody Saw Coming in the Battle Against Bad Music

Postby quakegod667 » Thu Jan 22, 2009 7:49 pm

From the Iron Maiden Forums:
16-year-old pop star Miley Cyrus has posted a new video for all her fans in which she claims that she is not "a poser" because she was recently photographed (Photo#1: http://cdn.buzznet.com/media/jjr/2009/0 ... out-13.jpg Photo#2: http://cdn.buzznet.com/media/jjr/2009/0 ... out-10.jpg ) wearing an IRON MAIDEN shirt. She says in the clip, which can be seen below, "I'm sure you all have seen me rocking an IRON MAIDEN shirt lately and I know there's been some people saying, 'Oh, she's a poser,' and 'The only reason she's wearing IRON MAIDEN is because she wants to be a rock star.' . . . So, IRON MAIDEN — 'Run To The Hills', 'Fear of the Dark', 'Running Free', [all] good song(s), check it out. So thank you, guys. I actually do like IRON MAIDEN."

Watch Miley's entire nine-minute message at the source. (The IRON MAIDEN bit begins around the 1:30 mark.)

That's pretty sweet I guess!

Miley Cyrus... Iron Maiden... What has science done??????

IMO, she's just trying to be a poser, but now all the kids who idolize her will hopefully get a taste of real music (or at least what we metalheads think is real music).

Exactly. "People, do you want to be cool like Miley Cyrus??? Miley listens to Iron Maiden. Be cool like her, listen to Maiden, and get a taste in real music!!!!"

Yep. That states my point (except for the Miley is cool part)

The real story:

Her publicity agents were angry at her popstar image, wanted to boost her rockstar image, so came up with a plan.

Miley: "Guysssss! I wanna be a rock star!"
Agent 1: "Okay, okay! Ummm, Jed, what's your favorite rock band?"
Agent 2: "Umm...lets see...Iron Maiden?"
Agent 1: "Okay, write that down. What are a few songs?"
Agent 2. "Uh, how about 'Running Free', 'Run to the Hills', 'Fear of the Dark', 'The Troo-"
Agent 1: "Okay okay okay, there we go. Write those on your hand, Miley"
Miley: "Okay."

a few minutes pass.

Miley: "How do you spell Run?"

a few more minutes pass.

Miley: "Okay done."
Agent 1: "Okay, lets go to Club Medal! Jerry,"
AGent 2: "Jed..."
Agent 1: "Yeah whatever. Give her your Iron Maiden t-shirt."

at the Metal Club

Miley: "I'm sure you all have seen me rocking an IRON MAIDEN shirt lately and I know there's been some people saying, 'Oh, she's a poser,' and 'The only reason she's wearing IRON MAIDEN is because she wants to be a rock star.' . . . So, IRON MAIDEN — 'Run To The Hills', 'Fear of the Dark', 'Running Free', good song, check it out. So thank you, guys. I actually do like IRON MAIDEN."

If she likes Iron Maiden so much why is she wearing her brothers t-shirt? Surely she has enough money to buy her own...

my 2 cents: WHO GIVES A ****?! if you guys hate her so much, STOP BRINGING HER UP HERE. half of her publicity comes from the people who hate her ripping on her on the net. if they'd leave her alone, maybe she'd get reduced to a reasonable fanbase of preteens who haven't yet developed decent musical tastes? ...OR MAYBE accept the fact that her music isn't "bad", per se, it's just not the kind of thing that people who play a game like Guitar Hero like. it's music for little kids and preteen/teen girls who are looking for an idol.

I agree with tibi to quite an extent.

I mean it sucks that there are going to be more stupid metal posers, but at least they're not listening to **** slipknot seriously.

The more money for maiden the better C:

My life could be complete if I could see Hannah Montana doing Number of the Beast.
