EasyCap Question

Postby jrdnxxhero » Fri Dec 19, 2008 7:04 pm

I'm planning on getting easycap to record guitar hero on my wii for christmas.
A Question for you people that have it, do I NEED to have it hooked up to my pc when I am recording the action on my wii? Or can it serve as a memory card type thing and upload it to my PC later.

Also, I was planning on getting This one. Would this one be a good choice to suit me need?

Honestly, I find the thing to be a peice of ****. It records at a low framerate. If you were going to record with it, you'd have to have something that was already recorded and are just playing it back or you have a splitter. No way you'd be able to play any kind of game on it (except a turn based strategy or RPG).

Well, Thanks for the reply.
But, I took a look at GHFan's youtube, and he uses Easycap, and they turn out fine.

WEll, he got it working better than I ever did. But, you'd still need a splitter. The lag between the game and the screen will not be very tolerable if you tried playing it with your PC.

So, I'm still not sure how this all work.

You put the WII A/V Cables into the transmitter (Easycap) and then plug the usb cord into the usb slot. Then play it on your PC?
Do you need to run like Fraps or something?

Hey, jrdnxx. Thanks for using my videos as an example, as a reward I'll tell you what I did:

I got some RCA splitters, the only one I could find on Amazon where 1 male 2 female so get 2 of these. Get 2 RCA couplers and put them on the male connection. Plug your Wii Left (or right) audio and video cords into this.

Get a pair of RCA cables (chances are you probably have some lying around, they come with DVD players or VCRs) and plug the cables into their corresponding cables on the splitters.

Plug one set of the cables into the EasyCap, and the others into your TV. Install the software and drivers, go to the software (IMPORTANT: CLICK ON "MOVIE WIZARD" and ignore the error that comes up) go to capture, click "Capture video. change the settings to the following:

If you need any other help, just ask, and good luck :2thumbsup:
It should work. Good luck

And waste like $100? EasyCap is like $11, and works just as well.

I wouldn't buy that EasyCap. USB screams "LAG LAG LAG LAG". I dunno if Gamebridge is USB or not, but I'd get something that does FireWire instead.

Well, it's lag on your computer if you're playing it that way.
But, I'm planning on getting A/V Splitters, so I can play on my TV.

Just googleing the firewire ones and they are expensive as ****. You'd be better off using a PCI card unless you are on a laptop like myself.
