playing .exe's in winamp

Winamp makes that sound because it thinks that's you're giving it an audio file, so he's trying to get as much audio-friendly bytes as possible in the file.
i asked for a technical explanation why. any person could of easily made that inference. i wanted a deeper, more technical explanation. all you did was sass me by asking "why would i do that" as if i did something wrong.
blah blah blah...

To be honest you actually did something wrong. Trying to play an exe with a media player is like cramming a cookbook into your VCR and expecting it to make you a sandwich.
Gerynch has already given you the technical explanation. Winamp is trying to interpret the exe file as a media file, just like your VCR would still interpret a cookbook as a video tape
