Well I've never had Word. Don't write many documents so always just used MS Works that came with every computer I have had. Updated Java today...finally(been popping up forever) and it also downloads some of Openoffice. So some of you may be interested in this. I guess it works like Word and opens all Word documents and the like. Check it out. Most of you seem like computer geniuses compared to me so you probably already know about. But here it is for those who don't OpenOffice

I honestly wished I had knew about it when I upgraded to XP. Then I wouldn't have dropped 150 for Word :(.

Yeah, same. But on Windows, OpenOffice seems to perform better. (In my experience, that is.)

It just depends on what mood I am in as to what program I use in Linux, really.

Lol. It rocks having a dad who can make "special deals" with Microsoft.

Yeah, OpenOffice is a good free alternative if you don't wanna buy MS Office. I have it too, it supports all MS Office document formats. I recommend it

I think it is unfair to say that. I mean, really, who doesn't know that it is possible to get just about any software you want free.

Maybe instead of them being "retards" it's a matter of principle in not wanting to steal?

When I used windows, I got it for free, but now it is a matter of not wanting to support a company that deals the way that Microsoft does.

Lol. It rocks having a dad who can make "special deals" with Microsoft.

Please, I've known how to make those same "special deals" that your father does since I was twelve.

Am I the only one who BOUGHT OpenOffice?

Probably, it's released for free. =\
