I'm in a Yu-Gi-Oh tournament today. :D
I'm going with a friend of mine, maybe we'll even form a tag-team.
The whole gameplay is K-swiss for anyone that wants to know. :p
I don't know why, but I just felt like making a topic for this. XD
It costs 5 euro's to enter and the collected money is divided between the top 3, so I really hope I win. C:
(I probably won't because I'm not that good as everyone else there).

So has somebody here ever been into a Yu-Gi-Oh tournament?
If so what deck do you use? (I myself use a burn deck)

Well, I'm going now, wish me luck!
Now Mudkip Flavour!

Not been in a tourney, but I'm one of the best in my area.

My current decks are... weird. One focuses on nuking the opponent's monsters so that Seiyaryu (a very rare card :)) can do some LP damage, the other focuses on bringing out Relinquished ASAP...

Yu-Gi-Oh wil live on forever! XD

Well, I didn't end up in the top 3, instead I became 4th out of 15.
I was the youngest there (I'm 14, and the rest is like 17 or 18) so I'm really happy I even became fourth. :D
I didn't win any prizes, but is was fun as hell! :)
And @ BSRaven: You should really organise a tournament or something, it isn't just about winning, but it's really fun and builds up a great community. :)

Another edifying comment from someone I've never heard of.

i play, not much, and i've never been in a tournament, but my deck is sitting in a box over there and my hundred or so spare cards are in a binder in my closet...

my deck's not so much themed as it is suited to my style. i just put cards in there that complemented each other, and i hardly ever lose when i play against my friends. haven't played against that many people though :p

I want to know why people play Yu-gi-oh
I only have played it for one time and I think it is just for little kids

It's like playing any card game, but with many possibilities instead of just one outcome. It can be fun.

Well that's where you're wrong. :p
Why is playing poker alright and Yu-Gi-Oh just for little kids?
I mean, Yu-Gi-Oh takes brains man, you can't just take a few cards and play with them.
So what that it's a pretty lame series (except the original japanese anime) for 8 years old, the cardgame itself is just like magic, and that's played by people that are like 20 years old.

So don't make quick conclusions by saying it's for little kids, it's very complicated and takes some serious brains to make a good and dual-worthy deck.

And to top all of that, It's the biggest card-game on the whole world right now.

It definitely is, but that's what makes it fun

I sold my Cards when I was like 9 for 25 bucks for about 500+ cards :). I had some good cards.

It technically is a card game with strategy, and life-points.

A little bit like poker except with colorful cards :p.
