Cloverfield? - Anybody see it yesterday?

I went to see it yesterday and thought, despite the headache I got from watching it, it was one of the best films of that style I have ever seen...didn't copy Blair Witch at all, in my opinion. Very intense, also, anyone who went through 9/11 or similar stuff might be a little shaken...good plot and very suspenseful at times, despite the lack of a soundtrack.

It isn't about Godzilla, for anyone wondering. Find a torrent or something, or just go to the theater (I snuck in XD) and watch it, because it's amazing.

Lol, now I'm getting intrested.. What's it like? Was it made to be like a horror movie or is it kinda like Godzilla? I read it's filmed like Blair Witch Project but does it have the same kind of feaky stuff in it?

well, i won't give away the plot, but something huge attacks new york while a going-away party is being held for some guy, and another guy is filming the party when it happens...they run.

The camera takes time to get used to, since a guy controls it to capture everything, but once you do it's gripping. The Blair Witch has nothing on this movie.

I know, this movie is awesome, I've been following it for a while, and it came out yesterday, and I was like YES!

Hopefully it'll come out on pay per view.

I was dissapointed. It's from JJ Abrams, of Lost fame, so I should have realized there wouldn't be any sort of plot resolution. And while it's the first time I've ever seen a moive shot in first person throughout, it's not like video games haven't been doing that forever. I was alternately reminded of Call of Duty 4 and Half-Life 2 ( ANTLIONS!) throughout. Regarding the camera, who owns a camera that shoots in widescreen?

SEE IT! ok, seriously, it's a love hate movie. but i personally loved it. if you can't take movies where the camera shakes and it's not always in focus, don't see it. if you can take that, see it. yes, there's not too much plot resolution, but when you think about it, IT'S A FREAKING HAND CAMERA! all we know is what they know. and honestly, it's a monster movie, what kind of plot do you need.

also, there's a Star Trek trailer before it! i'm now very excited :p

Well I get what they were trying to do, and that's cool, but if you're going to focus as much on the monster as they do, you have to give more information about it. If they had spent more focus and time on the characters, developing them beyond their cliches, I would've liked it.
