Aander: I find MW1 and 2 easier to pick up than, say, CSS. Am I amazing at MW2? No. Can I usually keep my k/d around 1.00? Yes.
I actually agree with raptor on his MMOFPS rant though. They do all suck, and they're not MMOs. And neither is Guild Wars. A single "Lobby Town" does not an MMO make, if the rest of your huge world is instanced.
They're called massively multiplayer online first person shooters because there are thousands or millions of players; however just because there are that many players it doesn't mean they all have to be on and interacting with each other for it to be an mmo. It's the fact that that many players exist and that the only mode of play is online that makes them MMOs.
Incorrect, sir. From wiki: "MMOFPS is an online gaming genre which features a persistent world and a large number of simultaneous players in a first-person shooter fashion." - an MMO is an MMO because people are running around in the world 24/7. With the exception of Huxley, there are no free PC FPSs that have persistent worlds. You go to a lobby, find a match, join the match, and then a map is loaded where you shoot each other, then you go back to the lobby. That's just a free online shooter, it's NOT an MMO.
