How bout Jane's Addiction? They are somewhat similar to RHCP (they're bassist even played with RHCP for one album). Their second album (Ritual De Lo Habitual) is a bit similar to RHCP (well, not really but kind of).

They are canadian, which is why they come in bags." So you end up wanting to hang out with your rastafarian friend but wait, YOU DON'T HAVE ANY FRIENDS. But they say nothing, so you continue to munch on their cheesy wheat-y goodness. But what's this? THE BAG IS EMPTY!

Alone in your dark empty room, you crawl your hollow shell of a body to the darkest corner, and your mourn, you mourn the lost of your goldfish, and you ponder... should I buy another bag?

That is a ****' goldfish.

Flea played for Jane's Addiction for a stint, also the guitarist from JA played in RHCP (Dave Nevarro).

Haha, anyways, I might give them a listen.

im looking for music that doesn't suck....like most of the stuff you people have posted....honestly i'm thinking the only great bands anymore are Megadeth, White Stripes, Killswitch Engage, All That Remains, Coheed & Cambria, Foo Fighters, Cradle of Filth, Fozzy, Bad Religion...everything else seems to have gone down the drain....
Obama sucks, Liberals suck, Metallica sucks, Avenged Sevenfold sucks, Nevermore sucks, I am greater than you. I will be more than you will ever think to be. I have more money than you. I am what you dream of being and what women dream of getting. I am the absolute single greatest thing ever. Just talking to me, your life seems to have a bit more meaning. Coheed & Cambria rocks, Buckethead rocks, Michael Angelo Batio rocks, Slayer Rocks, Megadeth is god, Neil Peart is god and Jimi Hendrix is the almighty god.

I nominate this for worst post ever. Or something.

Seriously.

Also, can I please have something like The Protomen, if possible mostly like their new album. Not particulaly the subject matter; I got into them cause of that, but I really like their music, and would like some similar sounding bands.

Check out some Wintersun.

I need some music that has some crunchy rhythm with an overdriving melody. Something prog-ish, but not to a complete degree.

No music sucks. You may dislike music, but that doesn't mean it sucks. Art = Subjective, Opinion =/= Fact. And the fact that you mentioned CoF....

That said, check out the Transilvanian Hunger album by Darkthrone, or Doedskvad by Taake.
