Opera doesn't have anywhere as near a big addon collection as Firefox, so there's not much of a choice, is there?

Because you don't need it. Stock Opera is infinately better than stock FireFox.

Also, there are thousands of widgets for Opera.

I'll use anything. They all do the SAME EXACT THING. I'll use IE, Firefox, Opera, Netscape Navigator, etc.

I have been looking at a few browsers here as of late.
I tried Opera, IE, Chrome, Firefox, and Slim Browser ( Yahoo i think)

My top 2 where Firefox (which i have been using for a long time.)
and Chrome.
Chrome wins out for me right now. I like the clean minimalist feel and the integrated search. I also feel it is quicker.

I also tried some 3D browser a while back ( can't remember name ) it was cool as a novelty but far to heavy.

The thing is, Firefox you don't have to install lots of things on it, but you can choose to.

About 1200 widgets and 500 skins.

But frankly, the only thing I downloaded was 1 skin.

Opera.

But Firefox for ad-heavy pages and a game that is made more frustrating with the Backspace = Back shortcut of Opera.

Opera's widgets are pretty pathetic. I've only found one that was actually useful, the rest seem like desktop add-ons. I just know it was something stapled so that it seemed more capable than what it actually is. However, Opera supports Greasemonkey and User Scripts, and through that it emulates a lot of FireFox's most popular add-ons. There's a flexible adblocker, a flashblocker, a inline spell checker (now included by default on Opera 10) and even a 4chan add-on. It's also pretty fast and feels really smooth while using. I quite like it.

Firefox is a mess. While it's definitely the most usable of browsers, through browser integrated add-ons, it's slow, unstable and I generally find it really lacking. It also had a really bad history of very bad problems: 2.x was known to have major memory leaks and become unresponsive over extended use. 3.x was always much slower to me and I've ran into some funny situations, like all bookmarks gone or for some reason breaking compatibility with IE.

Chrome is, in my opinion, the most promising browser yet. For one thing, it's already lightning fast, with benchmarks to prove it. The rendering engine is also based off Webkit, which many see as the future standard. Add-on support is being actively worked on (API available at Google), and has supported User Scripts from very soon, which made adblock and video downloading very possible. If you use it for just browsing, this is the one you want, hands down.

Either Opera or Chrome.

Chrome feels lightweight, so I use it when I need to do something quick. Opera has a personal bar, though. And a WMP11 skin.
