Recording for Youtube - What program to use?

Dude, Camstudio/Camtasia are horrible.
FRAPS is working perfectly for me, and since its not the demo that I have, I can record for as long as I want. Not just 30 seconds.

Try this program TmpgENC Its a free AVI-MPG converter. it works well, i used to use it to convert movies to MPG so i could put them on a disk. its fairly quick too!

You can turn a 800Mb fraps avi to a 10mb/15mb Mpg and it should still look ok

I can compress it to whatever I want.

But, I want it as big as it can be, so it can look as best as it possibly can on Youtube.

Since Youtube only allows 100MB, thats what I compress it to.

I don't understand why you felt like you could or should throw sh*t at him. and even if youtube allows 100mb videos, you don't need the files to be that big for only a 5-minute-or-so video to get excellent quality, it's just useless, especially for youtube

I use ZD soft's Game Recorder. Works well, if I like record a high quality FoF song the file is about 40 MB

I use it for everything. and for audio i just run it

NO actually i wasnt telling you it was wrong, i was trying to offer some advice seeing that uploading a 100mb file to youtube will take a while, plus the fact that a 15mb filesize for a 5 min or so video clip is perfectly adequate for quality and upload time ( plus who wants to sit in front of there computer waiting for a 100mb file to cache) not many id bet.
