2 month old article, but it hints at some awesome stuff. Blur-ray, HDMI, 3D....Almost to good to be true.

Meh. 3D is overrated anyway. But then I won't be getting this anyway, since I'd rather sit down to play games (other than GH/RB/FOF) and there doesn't seem to be many good sounding games so far for the Wii either. HDMI and Blu Ray are always a good thing though.

I'm sorry, but that article says nothing.
Nintendo have been toying with the idea of 3D for decades (yes, decades). Their main hurdle in the handheld space has been overcome, but their main hurdle in the home console space is still a problem. That is, no one has the tech and it's too expensive. Once that hurdle is cleared (they're only aiming for a 30% adoption rate) then they'll jump on that.

My prediction: Once the 3DS has been out for a while and the novelty has worn off, people will note care about 3D again until glasses-free, wide-viewing-angle, HD TVs (that don't give people headaches) enter the market and become cheap. Which is still a looong way off.

Next-gen Nintendo console will most likely be HD (that almost goes without saying, really) and therefore will need a bigger storage medium for games (blu-ray, for example. Or perhaps they'll go back to cartridges :P). This is also a little way off though, because despite individual opinions, the Wii is still very successful commercially.

I agree with death, but one thing, when the 3DS gets release, there will be 30% more deaths in the world due to epiliptical seizures, trust me. It may sound cool, but it is the worst idea ever.

haha, i dont know about the siezures part but there will be less kids annoying the crap out of me

I think the 3d idea is cool but it is indeed overrated. I just hope the next gen wii console will be hd and not have gimmicky controls that wear off in a week. But the mario games turned out great with the wiimote and nunchuck but it will be A LOT better if they went back to the controller.

Yeah, I got bored with my Wii after I lost interest in Smash Bros Brawl. I traded it in and got myself a 360, best move ever.

I'm not gonna like 3D until it's possible that we don't have to wear stupid glasses.

That's why the 3DS is so cool, you don't have to wear f*ggy glasses to see the 3D. Once they can get it so all 3D is like that, I'd maybe consider liking 3D.
