Watch Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, then you can decide whether or not avatar is a CGI action movie......

Did you sign up just so you orgasm over your love for a now **** series of video games?

....apparently. Man, have you even SEEN avatar? Advent Children has NOTHING on Avatar. (and yes, I own Advent Children). And it's not a chick flick... there's the same romantic subplot that's in every action movie in the freakin universe. Oh, and the same romantic subplot that just /happens/ to be in the Final Fantasy games. Avatar is an action movie with a romantic subplot, and it uses state-of-the-art 3D technology. oh, and if you did see avatar, but didn't see it in 3D, then you need to go see it in 3D before i will acknowledge your opinion again.

Today I went to see it in a Cinema. I saw the 3D version of it.

Did I liked it?

:woot:

You damn right I did!!

It's truly awesome, IMO. I love to see a movie that transports me into "another dimension". I categorize the movie as Fantasy, not action nor Sci-Fi.

Go and see it, if you haven't yet. That's what I recommend.

:2thumbsup:

Nothing for now...

Yeah the movie was great, and it's cool someone gets sh*tloads of money out of it, but there should be somekind of limit, when I went to see the movie (Finland premiere), before the start I visited gamestop and saw Avatar - the game and facepalmed.

Kinda off-topic but anyways

I just saw it today. I'll say it was pretty good.

I almost started crying at the part where I ran out of popcorn.

I saw it today in 3D, and I was pretty impressed.

The story was pretty predictable, but it was definitely told well. The visuals were good, however I actually thought that the 3Dness decreased overall sharpness, and now I want to see it in 2D because I think I'll be able to absorb more detail in the scenery, which was the best part. The floating mountains? Awesome. When they were flying through there, it felt like an awesome mix between Star Wars and Myst.

Ditto. Also, since I was sitting in the second row, their heads looked really wrong and really flat.

For the first few weeks it was out and from seeing the first preview in theaters(which was extremely vague and didn't show anything at all) I thought it was about Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Spoiler:

Saw it yesterday... it's ok. Nothing really amazing but good.
The storyline was kind of meh, but decent. The first hour, hour and a half was... boring, but the final battle was awesome.
