When you guys listen to the music you like...

How do you guys prefer it? Do you like to randomize through your library/playlists or do you pick each song out. I buy all my albums on CD format, but I can't just pick out a CD out of my collection and start playing it. Not trying to say I like all the songs on my library equally because I do prefer some bands over others, but I like it randomized. I bring this up because my brother always picks every single song out and I like it randomized. Just thought I bring this up because it was interesting when I was asking myself.

I keep them in 4 groups.
-All songs
-Depressing Songs
-Relaxing Songs
-HEAVY F*CKING METAL

It just depends on my current situation. Depressing songs is for boredom, relaxing songs are for homework, and metal is for stuff, the kinda stuff you know.

I'll just pick a random song out of a group of them, then I go ugh.... Then a new bunch of songs, then another ugh, rinse repeat.

So you guys semi randomize I guess. I use to do that, but I find that if you just let it play through you start liking more of the least popular songs on the album.

I shuffle them.
If an artist appears two times in a row, I skip the second song.

I go through phases with different bands, at times i only play music from a certain band. This time around it's Trivium <3

Really depends on my mood and time of the day. Mostly when I got to take the train (what I do everytime I go to university) it's Symphony X/DT/Muse, else it's quite random. Unless I feel like listening to some queen or something

I just listen to random songs I get for free on the internet. The only "planned" listening I do is when I listen to ACDC while I drive to my university.

i tend to listen to one or two albums for a few days to a week, then switch to a new album - or occasionally go back to an old favorite album.

I use the random playlist button in amarok most of the time, but sometimes I stick to a bands discography. The only time I hand pick songs is if I'm pissed or bummed out about something.

I tend to put to just throw iTunes on shuffle and let it do its own thing.

There are times where I just hit the next button until I come across something I feel like listening to.

I do occasionally hand pick songs.

I just click a song I like, and then all the rest of them get shuffled.

I usually have my MP3 player hooked up to my car and have it on random. I usually just listen to whatever comes up and just hit next if I get a song I don't want or I'll hit next until I get a band I want.
