He means take songs off his iPod and put them on his computer. There is a plugin that adds support for iPod Touch in winamp. Google it.

Yeha but this is iTunes. It's a real challenge to do the same thing in Explorer. Probably if you jailbreak it and change the firmware so the iPod would be undetectable by iTunes and would work like most MP3 players.

If you're using a "6th generation" Ipod like the Ipod Touch you can get your songs out of your ipod with diskaid: http://www.digidna.net/diskaid/download.php
Connect your ipod to your computer with the provided usb cable, open diskaid, select Media Folder (red arrow), browse to your itunes music folder and click Copy to Folder (green arrow):

Though you will notice the mp3 files don't have their original names anymore and that they are separated in many folders, it is a bit annoying but their ID3 tags remain unchanged. I like this application, USB is much faster than wifi SSH transfers, useful for big files or numerous files like roms.

Were talking about copying songs from your iPod onto you computer.

I don't see how iPod's are so popular, the program asscosciated with it and the iPod itself aren't fun to work with, say you lose everything from your computer or switch to a new computer. BAM! You've lost all your songs!

Same kinda thing with iTunes "store". It's not really a store. It's a rental place. You don't own any song you "buy" from them. They still own all the rights. If you try and take those songs off of iTunes and use them elsewhere (other than on your iPod), you'd be against the ToS. If Apple were to shut down iTunes, all those songs you have boughten would be gone.

The easiest way to get the music of your ipod to the computer is iDump. I am using Windumn Vista and it works find. I don't know if there is a Mac or Linux version. Google it!
