Okay, I had FoF (the original with a small mod editing the look of the notes [I don't actually know how I got that mod. It was an accident somehow :L]) but I tried to install a mod without backing up the folder the other day, and basically screwed it all up, and had to reinstall the game.
So I reinstalled FoF, and decided to get some mods. I got a few, and now i've got 'Cassettes', 'Guitar Cases', 'Low Poly CD List' and 'Megalight RB Notes', aswell as some GH themes + changes to the neck, sounds + notes.
Okay, so I go to play it, have to fiddle around with a few of the mods cause it wouldn't run, but that's not the problem. I got it to work, and the game runs fine (if not smoother than before, strangely) but one problem has occured.
Previously, if I had to hold F5 for a long note, then there was a F1 note IMMEDIATELY afterwards, I didn't have to press pick again. I could just quickly switch from F5 to F1 and it would hit the F1 note. This was useful as I could use it to play faster songs with lots of short notes quite well (And it made me look good :P) But now it seems this doesn't happen, so I figured i'll ask you guys to find out how to make that happen again, whether it's a mod, a feature i've disaibled somehow, or whether one of my mods are conflicting with something.. But yeah, any info would be good :)
Umm.. Well yeah, thanks in advance :D
Help please :)

Re: Help please :)
Ya sure it's not just hammer on/pull off? Does it happen ONLY when changing from F5 to F1?

Re: Help please :)
Welcome to the world of HOPOs. These aren't the strange 'tappable notes' you're used to in Stock FOF. This is the real deal.
Suck it up, and live with it.

Naah, it's not just when I go from F5 to F1. That was just an example. It's from any note to another note "directly" afterwards, it used to jump to it, but now it doesn't
*Although* i've noticed it does actually do it with normal notes, but not the prolonged ones (notes with a line you have to hold down - Don't know the name for them :P). Before I could hold it down 'till the end of the line, then switch from F1 to F2, for example - And wouldn't have to pick again.)
What do you mean by HOPO's? Sorry hehe, lil bit of a FoF nub :P

Hammer Ons & Pull Offs. That Means If The Next Note Is Close Enuf To The One That Your Hitting, You Don't Have To Strum.
Hope This Helped.

Re: Help please :)
La di da..... He's using original FoF and then he download Megalight RB notes as a mod? Hahahaha.... That's only for FoFiX. To turn on HO/POs in original FoF, got to Settings>Game Settings>Tappable Notes to on not off. That's easy. BUT! Original FoF has a really tight hit window and it's HO/PO is not so great. But I think it's great for you. Because, there is still HO/PO even after a long notes. Hope you enjoy in FoF.

Re: Help please :)
Ah I see, so one of my mods isn't compatable with FoF?
If so, does that mean the Alarian/MFG/FoFix things are not mods but actual different installations? Or are they mods too? :/ Hehe cheers + Sorry i'm such a nub :P

Re: Help please :)
FOFiX is essentially an entire installation with its own codebase. You don't install it over an existing installation of FOF but in its own discrete folder. It is self contained and you don't need any other versions of FOF to run FOFiX.
Now a quick and clear explanation of tapped notes versus HOPOs.
HOPOs = Hammer On/Pull Offs. Simply put: you strum a note, if there is a higher or lower note right after it that is sufficiently close to the first note, you can play it without strumming (and any notes afterwards may be HOPOs if they are close enough and shown as HOPOs, that is, glowing). Going from a lower note to a higher one is "hammering on" and going from a higher note to a lower one is "pulling off".
Tapped notes are not used in FOFiX. They are an old feature of the original FOF that has been removed in favor of traditional "Guitar Hero/Rock Band" style HOPOs. In original FOF you could tap a note and even if you missed one, restart a tapped sequence without having to strum again. HOPOs do not allow this for gameplay reasons. There was one other mod that had tapped notes as an option with slightly improved hit windows but the name of it escapes me at this point.
Either way, grab FOFiX, add some songs and play with proper HOPOs like most of us do.
