Not if you know how to bypass it. But problem's already solved I guess.

i play rockband 2 at my friend's house and i feel like the rockband 2 rock meter is a bit unsensitive in this version? has this been addressed? also the points system seems to be a little generous in your version. i'm just trying to give you pointers cause i would love to have my version be as much like the real game as any other :P also i dont know if its just me sucking with the rockband guitar but i also think the accuracy on rb2 is a bit more touchy than here. that one i'm not so sure about though.

other than that, amazing mod, i freaking love it. this post was not intended to attack the mod at all just give my input on a few things that need improval.

These are posts meant for the MFH/FoFiX thread, not this theme's thread... But anyway...

@Vlapinou - You mean the overdrive? You have to hit at least two sets of glowing white notes perfectly to build up the power in your overdrive bar (some easier songs sometimes don't have enough). After it says "Overdrive ready" you press PageDown (or whatever key you set in the options) to activate it.

@Emofreak123 - Things are the way they are in this mod because they've been that way forever. I believe the scoring is the way is has always been, even in the original Frets On Fire. This could be easily changed, but there's two main problems:
1 - People's current high scores would suddenly become unbeatable (including those on the online score charts)
2 - If it was changed to match Rock Band exactly, what about those who prefer Guitar Hero scoring? And if there was an option to switch between, we go back to problem 1 and screwed up scores on the online chart.
Also, the touchyness is most likely not your imagination. Look in the settings for the hit window and make it a bit tighter (I don't know which is closest to rock band)

Hello, people. I've been busy lately and I will be a lot more busy further on, so I'm going to pass on my duties as maintainer of this thread, developer of this theme and maker of FoFiX Full Installers. There are several reasons for that: a) don't like the new forum layout, b) theme development has reached the point when it can be called final (little fixes can be maintained by someone else), c) the new development model for MFH Mod (FoFiX) including only MegaLight Theme and hosted by Google - not much to do with half-legal stuff like this theme, d) lack of free time, and finally, e) not many people are still psyched about RB2 - new themes will get the hype now (my guess is obviously GH:WT, future GH: Metallica and maybe some other original themes).

Of course, I can't leave just like that, so I made all latest game/theme and other packages for you to download and develop further on (if you like to do so). Anyone is welcome to start a new thread and continue the work. I will still probably visit this forum from time to time to grab some fresh song rips / latest FoFiX. So, I wanted to thank everyone (special thanks fly to Dullusional, DesertDiamond, treckzy, Blazingamer, .liquid. and Gaia) for support and contribution. You rock, guys! It was fun.

Just so you know, I've learned a great deal of Photoshop lately (and several other graphics, video and sounds apps), so if I'll come up with a new idea for FoF graphics - I'll be back.

And here goes everything you might need to enjoy RB2 under FoF:

Frets on Fire FoFiX v3.030 Full Installer* - - - made and uploaded by ugo247548 (Biskit)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=N5KX9C1N
333 Mb
* Includes latest RB2 (1.51), RB1 (labeled for v3.030), GH3 (latest hosted on WR thread), Megalight (latest from Google Code) themes
* Includes several alternate graphics (for example, latest Dillusional stuff) in /Frets on Fire/data/themes/Rock Band 2/ alternatives folder

Rock Band 2 Theme 1.51 Light Edition* for FoFiX v3.030** - - - made and uploaded by ugo247548 (Biskit)
http://www.mediafire.com/?mutmymmlm0z
15 Mb
* Stripped of all the main menu songs and song stages except for one of each (no alternative graphics as well).
** The size of this one can make it sort of a patch (for mrhoeivo  )
Also Mac OS and Linux users can use this one

Rock Band 2 Folder Labels Pack - - - made and uploaded by ugo247548 (Biskit)
http://www.mediafire.com/?miy1mmzgrmj
2 Mb

New!
Rock Band 2 DLC Album Covers Pack - - - made and uploaded by ugo247548 (Biskit)

Nice necks, air15... I'll add support for individual instrument overdrive necks (issue 305) at some point and those will be useful.

Guess nobody noticed when I added the theme.ini setting to only show the number of grey stars you are working on... just add this line to the Rock Band 2's theme.ini and it is that much more like the real game:

Code: Select all

display_all_grey_stars = False

I added this setting specifically for this theme. :)

Sorry to see you go, ugo. I either use my Rb1 theme or this theme all the time, great work on this everyone.
