in the meantime, i compiled a linux binary with 2.36b, but changed to use older hit windows, just replace the FretsOnFire.bin with the new one in the following link.

http://www.mediafire.com/?zt4jtvjm104

I just realized i don't have to upload 80mb every time a new release is out, just need to upload the .bin file. :)

This will be how I update from now on unless there are significant code changes that require additional files in the data folder or changes in directory structure.

Ok everyone here goes, excuse me for being so abrupt after reading 10 pages of unconstructive whining.
DON'T POST IN THIS THREAD ABOUT HITWINDOWS AGAIN PLEASE

Before, you could actually hit the notes AFTER they had passed out of the screen... That's how big the notewindow was... Do you really think this feels appropriate???

OFCOURSE NOT!!! It's completely retarded and let you hit notes when being REALLY sloppy. It also makes some hitwindows overlap eachother, which is REALLY retarded.

Jeez, I can't begin to understand where all this whining is coming from, what you're saying is literally "PLEASE MAKE THE GAME ILLOGICAL AND BAD AGAIN ALARIAN, PLEASE".

The new hitwindow is based on the speed of the neck, if you are unsatisfied with it then play with a lower Board Speed %

50% boardspeed will have 200% hitwindow

ENJOY whiners

For those of you who like a sensible game where you can't hit notes outside the screen by default... and actually feel like being constructive and not just have everything served to you in a baby's bottle. Set the hitwindow to tight and tweak the A/V-Delay so it's right when you hit the notes when listening to the music, then set the hitwindow to wide and you will experience a really wide hitwindow. To make it even wider, lower the boardspeed%.
PS. I might add a NOOB option to the hitwindow, but you will NOT be able to upload scores if you use it.

Please let this be the last thing said about Hitwindows.

About Variable/Speed-dependent Hitwindow!
Set the hitwindow to tight and tweak the A/V-Delay so it's right when you hit the notes when listening to the music.
This is how I perfected my A/V-Delay... I first set it to 60 and played Megadeath - Hangar 18 on Expert / Tight hitwindow. I think this is a great song for testing since it has alot of repeating notes at the beginning in reasonable speed. I didn't hit even half of the notes, so I raised the A/V-Delay to 80, still not even half of the notes. I continued to do this until I was up to 120 A/V-Delay and now I hit every note. I kept tweaking the A/V-Delay and on 132 I'm set. Now I ripped Hangar 18 on Expert / Tight.Remember that the correct A/V-Delay is different on every computer depending on prestanda.

I updated my custom notes if any of you are interested. I used the GH3 stars with some filters applied. I think they look pretty good in-game against the transparent fretboard.

EDIT: Added HOPO glows

OOOOH I have a new idea! It's pretty good and it will require little bits of coding.

When you go back from the song menu, you should get to the neck selection scene.

Agree. And maybe add a link when you finish a song to the "Neck Selection" menu.
