This message is for everyone that gets the error Invalid literal for int(): None

Since I can't recreate this problem myself it's very hard for me to fix it with my current set of information.
So for all of you who gets this problem I need the following information:

1. Operative System (Vista? XP? 2000?)
2. Have you done ANY changes to ANYTHING in the game? Even if you changed an image from what I have provided in 1.2 this is interresting because 1.1 is fundamentally different from 1.0, and 1.2 is fundamentally different from 1.1... So it's fundamentally IMPORTANT for me to know.
3. Fundamentally :D
4. Do you get this error in both themes or just Rockband (or GH3)?
5. How did you "install" the game?

I do NOT need information about your fretsonfire.ini :) Thank you very much, help me help you!

For those of you who want notes that more closely resemble the actual game... I'm sure someone can do better, but I threw this together just so it's out there.

I noticed this too - in the notes I posted, the original ones were rotated correctly. When I hacked it up to create the 5th and 6th rows to conform to the new format, I rotated each note 2 and 4 degrees about its center axis. It seemed to match the angles of the existing notes just fine visually (I'm no good with graphics) so I went with it.

However, I believe what I have to do is nudge each note upwards a little bit at a time and check it again until it looks right. I'm gonna give it a shot later and see if I can make the notes line up in-game with some test songs or something.

(edit: I'm talking about these notes, not the ones that are included with this mod:

)

I updated the GH3 notes and Rockband notes to line up better to the beat lines.

I took the fret legend MeteOritO put on the GH3 menu background and put it on the Rock Band menu background as well for those that want it (replace SongChoosePaper.png with this image in your Rockband Mod\Menu folder):

Releasing 1.3
I'm sorry that I didn't implement QQStarS 2-player fix but:
1. From what I udnerstand it's not 100% so I wanted to go through exactly what it does
2. I haven't gone through it
3. I haven't had time to implement all the code changes
I will release it in 1.4, if I have time I'll finalize it I will (if needed don't even know if it's needed)
If I don't have time to analyze it I'm going to release it AS IS

Changes in 1.3:
+Lightning on Starpower-charge in GH3-theme
+Rockband menu graphics
+Main menu bug (Menu items were wider apart at lower res, overlapping at higher res)
+new overdrive notes
+phrases toggle (by blazingamer)
+cassette/list toggle (by blazingamer)
+2 new necks (EdisLeado)
+proper GH3 gameresult stars (EdisLeado)
+Really nice Rockband Options background (EdisLeado)
+Might have missed something else I implemented from EdisLeado

+"double-click bugfix" (by qqstars) read about it here: https://www.fretsonfire.org/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=11;t=21239
(Could you people test if this effects anything else? I'm not sure about the solution and I haven't had time to test it, but the problem is retarded so I hope this fixes it!)

Myfingershurt has done that really great Hopo-system-fix and I'm going to implement it in 1.3b in about 5-7 hours

Check first post for download of 1.3!

+List/CD-switch fixed...
+QQStarS Hopo "fix" removed
+Removed "Party Mode Timer" from settings
Hotfix instructions:
Download this fix and replace your files in frets\data folder
http://primavikt.se/fof/Ds~Alarian%201.3b%20hotfix.zip

I can't upload the complete .rar until I get home so it's dead at the moment !

New version 1.4
+removed scores uploading since it's ruining for the normal FoF-players (Can't get these high scores in regular FoF)
+changed text "nil" to "no data" in song list when there's no difficulty for a song
+fixed font visibility
Image
+implemented the kickass HOPO-fix (by Myfingershurt)
+lyrics positioning in Rockband mod (By Myfingershurt)

I'm sorry that I didn't implement QQStarS 2-player fix but I STILL haven't had time to implement all the code changes... I know I promised to put it in this version but I hope that I will release it in 1.5, if I have time I'll finalize it I will (if needed don't even know if it's needed). I know I said I was going to release it AS IS but I feel I'm going to get too flamed with people complaining about it and posting bugs for no reason (I've noticed that alot of people don't read my posts and repost bugs that I've alread said I'm aware of)

Edit: this is for Ds~Alarian v1.4:

I've created a separate lyric position for the GH3 and Rock Band mods so that they can both be centered and look right. I've also removed potentially problematic calls to the old HOPO-marking function, MarkTappable (which is commented out in my HOPO system fixes). Here is a link to the updated GuitarScene.py:

http://www.mediafire.com/?90s9wbmn9kk

Here are screenshots of the GH3 and Rock Band separate lyric placement:

http://img73.imageshack.us/my.php?image=rblyricfixedlowerssng6.jpg

http://img145.imageshack.us/my.php?image=ghseparatelyricposte6.jpg

For those that want to hack their own GuitarScene.py, here's the code to find (almost at the bottom):

Code: Select all

              font.render(text, (.5 - w / 2, .69),(1, 0, 0),0.00175)

...and replace it with this code:

Code: Select all

              #myfingershurt:
#separating lyrics positions for GH3 and Rockband mods:
              if self.theme == 2:
                #RB mod
                #font.render(text, (.525 - w / 2, .65),(1, 0, 0),0.00150)    #totally centered in RB!  lookin good - this is slightly smaller, between frets & multiplier
                font.render(text, (.515 - w / 2, .715),(1, 0, 0),0.00170)    #centered underneath overdrive
              else:
                #gh3 or other standard mod
                font.render(text, (.5 - w / 2, .69),(1, 0, 0),0.00175)     #default, this displays center bottom

... I've also hacked together a new favorite set of notes. This one has no note angle problems, they all meet up perfectly and it looks and plays great:
