It's finally finished -- Hopefully it's been worth the wait! :p

About 90% of the graphics were revamped -- So I'm not even going to attempt to write a changelog unless you wanted something like this:

Code: Select all

- Improved EVERYTHING.

Anyways, some screenshots -- Let me say this again, not everything the mod has changed are shown in these screenshots -- So I implore you to download the patch and try it out yourself.

Overdrive.

And yes, I know the in-game background is pretty drab -- But I honestly can't stand frozen shots of the band in the background so I found a picture of a Rock Band stage and used that after modifying it heavily.

Fortunately, you guys can change the background yourself by replacing stage.png in the Rockband Mod folder with a picture of your choice after resizing it.

Otherwise, there was some stuff I wasn't able to change -- Like the song selection menu text colours and stuff -- But hopefully it won't bother anyone (much).

Oh, and thanks to txf for making that flame-y Rock Band neck. Oh -- and speaking of necks -- If you're gonna use this mod -- I recommend using ONLY the Rock Band necks if you want the game to look good :p That means use the plain black, flame-y or that bandana looking one.

Anyways, download my Rock Band Theme (patch only):
Hybrid Patch [Rock Band Theme] (Mediafire)
Hybrid Patch [Rock Band Theme] (Rapidshare.com)

BTW, if you're wondering how the notes/HOPOs work -- The HOPOs are the brightly lit WHITE notes -- While the star/overdrive notes are the tinted notes. Check it out in-game, you'll see the different. You shouldn't get confused with HO/POs or normal notes or anything.

NOTICE: Oddly enough -- Score and difficulty selector backgrounds as well as note tails are all read from the same directory for both the GH3 and Rock Band themes -- So if you're thinking of switching between one or the other -- You're going to have remnants of graphics from the patch you installed last...

Anyways, enjoy!

The overdrive meter still drifts to the left when it gets partially
filled. Not sure if you wanted the overdrive hit flames to be blue either. Neck lines are a tiny bit off center. Not trying to be a nitpicker, but just wanted to give you a report :) Honestly though, you have just made a good thing great. You are awesome!

Edit: Tinted notes look F'ing beautiful.

you could have left HO/POs as they were, just improving the note look,

in rockband(at youtube videos) I can clearly see hammer ons and pull-off :p

nice improvements, but once again, not gonna take my chances on difficulty and part selector screens :O
they creep me out =PP
edit:
sidenote: rockband hitflames ?
a.k.a. note destroyer effect(maybe rockband's beta flames too, those that kinda blend out)
edit2:
sidenote: I kinda liked the woody screen in the beginning, I think making it plain made it go one step back...
just wondering, not that I hate it xD

Loving it. There were something I didnt like though. I didnt like the overdrive neck removal or the hitflames. I'm never picky at all but I changed that as well as the hitflames and the overdrive lines and neck back to the way Coffee had them. Overall great job man. I love all the new additions. I also love txf's notes. Credit to txf man, those are the best ever.

Can you make the HO/POs look like this? Only with the white part gleaming/brighter, like they are with the GH notes.

Also, it's be nice if the hit flame made it look like the note shattered away like the real game.

wow again awesome work! thanks!!! menus kick my ass!

but there are few things i didn't like. keys are way too big. hitflames and hitglows should be more rock band like. normal notes shoul have lil bit less white lighting and overdrive meter got some graphical bugs.

Overdrive has had graphical bugs :p

I aggree with the other things. ("cept the notes, cuz i didn't try them, I used my own xD)

Ok, well. I said I would post these here when I finished them. I made the HoPos more noticable on my notes:

Image

I think they work fine<_<..(coming from someone that can see the ones that are just slightly smaller, just fine..)

Txf I'll give them a try, I prefer your earlier released notes though.
