Is there a way to set up FOF so that instead of .dae files, it would use .svg/.png instead and have 3 different pictures representing the keys (key.svg, key_hold.svg, key_hit.svg) and 1 representing the notes (note.svg).

Bumped for interest.
Sorry, I have nothing to add. I would just like to see this happen.

Dude, this would be a n00b's best friend. Instead of modeling you'd just use pictures, it would be much easier for those who want to make mods for the graphics but don't feel like learning how to model in 3d since it's hard.

Not only that, but it would be much easier on systems than 3d models.

Yeah, Amplitude in the "Biggest GH3 Graphics Rip Yet!" thread said "Sadly the notes from GH3 are just pictures mapped to a plane that scroll down the fretboard (which is also just a picture mapped to plane).", I trust him (and I noticed they looked a little 2-D).

Yeah that's exactly what I thought when I posted this, it's the laziness of RedOctane with there notes that inspired me to start this topic:D

Most programming languages should support sprite scaling and do, it just seems so simple, I would be suprised if python didn't!

When are you kids gonna learn? it's not the laziness of NeverSoft, they did it for better performance, they already had ready 3D notes from previous GHs

Well, either way, if you're going to have a lot of notes on screen it's going to lag no matter what. We're just looking into this for simplicity reasons and on some systems the game might actually look better if it used pictures instead of models, that's why this topic was really formed.
