Well, if you are desperate enough, simply screw the keyboard away - you will have a box with inner electronics and a board with the keyplaces. Similar as with modding USB controllers, you will have to stick the buttons somewhere else.

My friend tried this and he didn't think he could make it because his keyboard were too complex or something. I think your task sound easier than it really is.

I was able to create my own guitar using a saw and keyboard in about 5 hours. I bought a 2 dollar keyboard from goodwill, unscrewed it, cut the frame of the keyboard down to the esc and f keys, and simply rolled the plastic containing the rest of the keys behind ... may seem kind of ghetto... but with some electrical tape and a wrapping paper roll, i was able to fashion it into a guitar that has worked extremely well for almost 8 months now... i wouldnt play any other way.

t5lb5t, I did it in a way similar to yours, but instead I simply cut away all the keys besides the, numbers, Enter with all the buttons right to it und zie pick button. It was really easier to hold it and was guitar-shaped. Sadly it got trashed.

Thank god my crappy stock compaq keyboard didn't include any junk above the f key's and the keys r low profile u can slide your finger from f1 to f5 even thru the gap without any problems i've yet to see a keyboard that could work better for this game. I'll take a picture and post it if u wanna see and possibly pick one up yourself. It don't play some of the triple chord's unfortunately but thanks to mods thats been solved.
