umm i need help with putting a background without using the rf mod thingy on the new versio of FOF
how do that does anybody know?

could you be a little bit less clear?? what is your problem exactly?
to mod the background in the new version of FoF you have to edit the stage.ini , follow the guide they provided on the game website: HERE

To get your picture to show:
0) is it really for the latest version of FoF?
1) is it a png? if no try to convert it to this format, make sure it's not interlaced and in a RGB color mode (not index)
2) create another file with the same name but with the svg extension (if you have background.png create a background.svg - you can use inkscape if you need but since what's in the file doesn't matter you can create it the way you want)
after that, you can add effects on the layer in your stage.ini
3) open the stage.ini and put something like
[layer1]
texture = background.svg
xres = 512
yres = 512
xscale = 1.0
yscale = 1.0
xpos = 0.0
ypos = 0.0
angle = 0.0
