Please be more specific. If it worked before, try extracting the original files again and see if it helps. If it still doesn't work, make sure you have rebooted, just in case the OS is being glitchy.

You can select notes individually by holding CTRL when you click, or if you want to select all notes from one to another, click the first, hold SHIFT and click the last note.

Hmm, mine for some reason stopped starting. I double click on it and it comes up with the window but it has a message "Can't set up keyboard." I'm using Windows XP and it was working yesterday, but for some reason not today. I'm going to restart my computer and see if that helps it.

EDIT::
Okay, that fixed it, but it makes me wonder what was running that could have caused that.

Do you mean that you want there to be less notes to make them less difficult? Do you mean you want to lower the tempo (BPM) so that there are more HO/POs?

Feature request:
-Ability to name entries in the fret catalog (ie. guitar riff 1)

Then press space bar. If it stutters, increase the buffer size in File>Settings. If it stutters no matter how high you set the buffer size (probably don't go higher than 10240), then your computer might not be powerful enough. Try lowering visual settings in your OS. I find that my low end video card will run EOF faster when I am using 16-bit color depth instead of 32.

Edit:
Newly-found bugs:
*Some condition exists that could cause bass drum (and possibly other notes) to be clipped from the 3d panel. Here's a screencap:
Image
I have emailed you a set of files that demonstrate this problem.

*Tails that extend into a tempo change still only take their note's original tempo into account, they won't end on a correct snap to grid position in the ending beat

*Strangeness with modified indicator/undo system: If a chart is saved after edits, changing a note's tail will not mark the chart as modified until undo is invoked to undo the tail changes. From that point on, if another tail change is made, undoing it will not remove the modified indicator on the chart. Saving the chart one more time will reset the modified indicator but this cycle of weirdness can be invoked again afterwards.

What are the chances of being able to implement overlapping long notes?
I was watching a video of GH:WT and it reminded me of a long time ago when I would play the old base version of FOF.
I guess the FOF in-game editor allowed you to make overlapping long notes, but EOF does not.
It stops the length when you reach a new note.

I consider that a bug. I know WT has this feature but FOF doesn't support it nor do any mods that I know of.

This is what MFH said about it.
myfingershurt wrote:txf, if you'd try fretting a song with overlapping sustains, it should already work. The big problem with GH:WT is the additional fret.

So we know that MFH Mod supports it, though I do understand how you would view it as a bug.

Select one or more notes and move the mouse scroll wheel (if yours has one), otherwise use [ and ] to change tail lengths. Refer to the manual, tutorial, help menu, and release notes for more controls and instructions.

A couple more minor bugs I found:

*Sometimes, when the first time a beat mark is clicked after saving and starting+stopping playback, the click doesn't select the beat mark. It has to be clicked a second time (ie. to anchor it). Subsequent anchor selecting works with one click. I cannot produce this every time and am not sure what specific condition causes it. One way I've been able to produce this more than once is to toggle an anchor, save, play several beats worth of the song back at <100% speed, stop the playback and attempt to select a beat to anchor it.
*I am kind of impatient, so I resume playing back the chart in EOF immediately after saving it. The processing for the save causes the playback to stutter so that the audio loses sync with the chart. I'm not sure if there's a better way to fix this besides have EOF disable playback until the save has completed.
*The "save as" command removes .(anything) if the supplied filename ends in .(anything) besides .eof ie. saving as test1.test2 (eof extension implied in dialog), it saves as test1.eof. This can be overcome with saving as test1.test2.eof. I have verified this is the case regardless of whether the Windows UI is enabled or disabled.
*I was able to reproduce the stuck tab button effect when ALT+TAB'ing in and out of EOF a couple times
*Input from the "First note appears to be off. Adjust?" dialog leaks into EOF and is processed

This was the first time I had run into the "First note appears to be off. Adjust?" message, when I was working with one of my charts that I recovered from MIDI. Is this a feature offering to snap the first of a run of selected notes to a grid position?

New bug:
*Using the up and down arrows when no notes are selected causes EOF to mark the chart as modified

Feature request:
-Ability to customize the clap sound per fret. For example, snare can be clap, high hat can be tick. Eventually, maybe other sounds can become usable for the clap or metronome ticks.
