I suggest taking that down and then adding it to 3.015 once he's done because until then this will be ignored by him. He's not incorporating any unofficial hotfixes while he's working on this official release, that's why I'm taking a break, I'm kind of forced to.

You could either try moving one song at a time out of that GH1 folder and see if the game lets you in -- then you know which file has a bad score (if it's only one bad score)....
or, you could (recommended) use the Song Manager application to reset all your GH1 song scores. You'll be fine, just fine.
Ok, cool. Thanks. Lol. I haven't really played them much because of this so I don't mind losing the scores. haha.
I'll go clear out the scores and see if it all works. I'm disappointed that I couldn't find that out for myself though. >.> lol.
Life would be so much easier if we just had the damn source code.

I found a bug. I don't know if it's worth fixing or if it's already been mentioned, but...
When you scroll down the setlist by holding down the Down arrow, the game freezes and crashes.
Dunno if it's worth fixing, just thought I'd tell you.

@MFH et al.:
+ Font rendering optimizations patch.
++ Cache glyph texture and size at load time.
++ Changed font loading threads to be synchronous.
+++ Without it, i was getting BlackSOD 99% of the time.
+ Minor themeable options optimizations patch.
++ Convert theme.ini color values only once: at load time.

It's just my opinion, but the HOPO Indicator is kind of useless at the moment. First because it is never explained how it works, and then because it's not visible enough. On some backgrounds it just ends up invisible, I think the difference between the two colors should be more strong. Like the green/red of the hit windows thing.

I noticed this one this morning when propping my 9 month old son up with a controller: If you sit back and don't hit a single note in a guitar solo, you still achieve a 100% Perfect Solo... Just 0 score
and minor dribbling.
Thanks.

Thanks.

Yike. I thought 2.914 was bad for lag...
No offence or pressure MFH, but JESUS CHRIST we need some optimisation. The 2.8 update just before the "Guitar Lead/Guitar Ostinato" patch is the smoothest I've ever had... 3.005 is just... unplayably laggy. And I can't afford to upgrade the ol' hardware either, but have a peep anyway:
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 1.9GHz
RAM: 256MB
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce2 MX 400 (64MB)
OS: Windows XP SP2 (If relevant)
In terms of CPU, it's not too far off that laptop of yours... So yeah, bugging me.

@BSRaven: Have you played with the settings?! e.g. Performance, FretBoard, Theme, Visual, etc.?
Have you read MFH's performance recommendations at the very beginning of this thread?
My system is close to yours ([email protected], 1GB RAM, NVidia GeForce4 MX440 64MB, OS: GNU/Linux) and 3.015~b4 is much smoother than 2.8.
Edit: Things like antialiasing can slow things down alot.
