Once again, I have devised some new HOPO logic that I cannot test for several hours. So, here is a 3.000.beta3 manual patch -- so those of you that know what you're doing can get some testing in and let me know much sooner how it's behaving.

Another easy section to test is strumming the entire intro to RB - Weezer - Say it ain't So (guitar on expert), if you don't want to play the "Fast Part" section of Outside.

Currently coding / debugging / testing:
++Investigating HOPO before chord strum issue involving Tribe - Outside
++Wrote some new pre-emptive same-note HOPO strum patten detection to help determine HOPO strumming intentions -- test this with 3.000 beta3, requires 2.995 and windows (or renaming all data & theme files to lowercase as detailed above): download beta3

MFH, i'm probably not the best guy to recieve feedback from because i dont know a lot of what goes on behind the scenes, so i'm not too sure what to look for, but i gave both songs a tryout and I played the intro over and over, both in the 3.0 beta, and with 2.995, and coming from a player standpoint, i like the new HOPO detection.

I strum'd the whole song of weezer after doing the intro only and found I didnt really get any of those random fail'd notes that I got in 2.995. I did the same with Tribe, however it was more difficult to strum all the HOPO's.. i'm not quick enough, but I definately could tell a difference and am enjoying it. It'll make those harder songs with the random HOPO's in quick parts easier for me.

Wish I could be more technical or helpful, but that's my feedback from it all...

Thank you, that is helpful. I think this should solve all the problems involving strumming HOPOs; hopefully it will behave when I test it later today, and maybe I can finally move on.

Dang, you are making a new hopo system? I'll have to add that to my mod as well when you're done since it sounds pretty good. Once you're done with 3.0 think you could take a break from doing all these new features for Alarian and help getting just solo's working with Rf-mod 5. That would be much appreciated.

Not a new HOPO system; I'm trying to get the one I already made to work correctly. That has always been my overall goal; it was my first goal as well, back when I started.

Sorry, I'm taking a break after I release 3.000 - and when I come back I intend to continue work on this mod. I really don't want to spend time trying to get something complex like the guitar solo system working in another version of Frets on Fire.

Shouldn't Alex be the one making an RF-Mod? I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to do, or why.
