I've been out of the loop for a while again (been playing real RB2, hehehe) and I must say I am as impressed as ever. The amount of progress on this thing is staggering. The only criticism I have to offer at this point is the RB2-themed song results screen is a complete mess. Most everything else seems good to me.

@MasterPhW: Well, I'll be damned. I've seen you around the emulation forums for a while, never expected to see a familiar face around here. So, welcome to FoFiX.

Azzco wrote:Hannon, are you saying that you can't get Ho/Po's to work in GH2 songs?

I've never had any problems with the GH2 songs that I have, Mr.Faust is (I think he's done with it) working on ultra mega releases of the GH series and those should probably be tested instead of older GH2 songs.

In case it's another problem you'll have to describe again (as you said there's just too many replies in this thread to find something more than 5 pages back).

Azzco yes that is EXACTLY what i am saying, ok i own GH2 for xbox 360
there are hopo notes in the game i play it and love it, but then i get to FOFix and theres nothing, i mean not even so much as a lick of a hopo.

again ive used every combination of hopo setting to attain the desired effect and so far nothing has worked, i don't wanna play with "most" on cuase most isn't what i want, i just wanna be able to hammer on and pull off, not hammer on, hammer on...

BTW "most" should be in the cheat and "GH sloppy" should be in the hopo

HOPOs working fine for me, always have been. Played plenty of GH2 setlist last night, worked great. No idea what to tell you.

Progress committed as r1002, FoFiX issue 560:

Spoiler:...this is working great for me in a Windows XP 32-bit source environment. I'm also now seeing around 150 FPS in menus instead of the 60 I'm used to on my laptop running at minimum speed.

I've added a quick and dirty hack to fix all the empty font boxes from showing up when the special glyph characters are used. Now, all Left and Right arrow icons will show up as "<" and ">" - this works great. Stars will show up in the songlist as asterisks *, and do not quite line up right, but they work fine. This will allow the alpha testers to experiment with this, and we will fix the ugly asterisk-*-stars in a later revision as long as this doesn't break the game for anyone.

Indeed, evilynux and I had been studying and experimenting with various parts of the font rendering logic... I believe he might find this revision interesting as well. With the font rendering bottleneck apparently solved, all that remains is FoFiX issue 491 in the next revision and we should have some substantially lower system requirements for smooth FoFiX gameplay. :)

Yeah, that's meant to happen, I think...

And what a great revision! Just ran TTFAF with Jurgen, with my laptop unplugged (so in a power saving state) and I was getting constant 60fps, with V Sync on.

what theme are you using? if the notes.png doesn't have hopo notes in it they wont display. if your playing rb1 the hopo's are a little tough to see try useing the rockband 2 notes or if you sniff around in the first post i think there's still a link to some older rb notes.

Wow..... reading the google code page it seems this is a major find. I only use Betas and full release so I can't wait to see it in action but reading the other dev's talk about it this is going to be cool

Well done dude!

After I get the star images showing in the songlist again instead of those asterisks*...I will begin testing for a 3.100 Release Candidate 1.

Because of thise, I'm requesting a feature freeze for FoFiX developers until this goes Final (couple days of successful widespread testing ought to do it) - please don't add any new features or ideas or anything except bugfixes until we begin work on 3.120. (you can test and experiment with new things locally - just don't commit to SVN yet).

(unless there are any developers in the middle of something, so far this seems great)

Progress committed in r1005 on FoFiX issue 560:

New modular "drawStarScore()" function in GameEngine.py now. Demonstration of usage in GameResultsScene's star scoring (although not yet in the scrolling highscore list)

Yes i normally use the rb1 GUI as its a little smoother loading than the GH GUI's, if i have outdated files, seeing as how ive had the same files for a few years, then yea maybe this could cause me to not have hopo.

You know, I am everywhere, where an emulator or simulator is rising. The only problem with FoFiX is, that I don't know how to code in python, instead I would code for it aswell.
Nice to see you here, but let's stop the offtopic, pm instead.
