Great! There always needs to come a time when you stop adding features and focus on polish - and for most software projects, the sooner the better.

Although I am a FoF newbie, I can answer this from years of seeing similar posts on other projects. The answer is always the same:

It will be ready when it is ready and not a second earlier.

And it's been released :p

How long should we expect for a new RF version? I haven't installed the new FoF version yet because I bet it won't support the lastest RF version...

I've already looked at their version in the earlier SVN if you look at another thread.

Their HOPO was missing a few things. It also does not have the HOPO/pluck detection everyone has complained about. That was one of the things I worked pretty hard to try to fix (although it is not perfect).

I will probably release 3.0 soon (it will be for the previous version) before I work on 4.0 which will just be a port to the new version (as much as I can).

While I think my HOPO are better, I'd rather use their code for it because mine is very hacky. But I can improve the algorithm.

where to download rfmod 2.96?
if you don't put a screen up, people won't waste 2 mins to download it, extract it into mods folder, start the game, mess with the settings, choose a song to play it in. Because internet folk are a lazy breed. Without a screen, we can't be guaranteed it's worth our while, so we won't download it.

2.96 is a version of RF Mod that is undergoing development. Most people that make large projects, such as RF Mod and FoF, number there versions as they update them. RF's not going to release it though, because it's still in development.

For example, look at FoF. You had 1.1.324, then you had 1.2.438. There never was any 1.1.323-1.2.438, that would be ridiulous if you had a bajillion versions of something, and who would take the time to download every single one?

You get the picture? I hope so.

Goodbye everyone. It's been fun. I spent many many hours here on these boards and playing/contributing to FoF. Today I uninstalled my game and deleted all my files. I just don't have the time or interest anymore. I won't be coming back here anymore. I might show up in the IRC from time to time to chat. I regret nothing.

So long, farewell.

not to the public anyway. Commercial games go through many different builds as well.

Because FoF's numbers don't exactly stand for decimals. I don;t know how they number them, but it could go something like version.volume.sub-volume. For example the newest release is Version 1, Volume 2, Sub-volume 438.

But that's just an example, cahnces are it doesn't stand for that.
