When you are coosing song there should show how lenght song is.

that was requested before...It would work fine if we add it in the song.ini

It should be possible to read this information from the song .ogg, without loading the entire file. Keeping it in the .ini seems like an ugly hack, and prone to mistakes.

Great mod by the way.

Chuck201, I'm not really sure how to do the translation stuff into other languages. I know FOF has some built in support for doing it but I've never really looked at it.

as far as reading the tag information from the song that requires more libraries to read the .ogg headers which are currently not there. I'm not super sure I want to add that bloat at this point.

So basicly you've already come up with a better way to solve the same problem. Good to know.
Just one little point - is it possible to turn off this feature on a track-by-track basis? For example, a track that is just acoustic guitar and should be completely muted by mistakes?

In those cases you could simply create an empty song.ogg file so it will detect a song.ogg, and it would mute the guitar while playing the song.ogg, which is blank.

You know, that's got me thinking, wouldn't it be sweet to get some Jazz songs FoF'ed?

How about linux support? Or am I the only one here rocking FoF on GNU/Linux?

Linux is on my todo list.

There should be a new official version out soon, so that will have linux support. I just have to make my linux dev environment work.

I'm glad to hear that. I was really disappointed when I saw this mod couldn't run under Linux.
I quickly tested it when I could get my hands on a windows computer, and I must say it totally kicks ass. Now, if there was also a linux version, that would be great :) !

Damn.
If we ever make forum awards things, this goes for best answer
if you don't put a screen up, people won't waste 2 mins to download it, extract it into mods folder, start the game, mess with the settings, choose a song to play it in. Because internet folk are a lazy breed. Without a screen, we can't be guaranteed it's worth our while, so we won't download it.

I reckon that with some nifty reverse temperal engineering, I can make 4.0 come out before 3.0 without RF even realising!
Its just like life. Quite interesting in parts, but no substitute for the real thing.
