Ahh nice!
All my reverse engineering and a little googling would have made all the difference
Great work!

Re: MIDI Input Patch for MFH 3 (for electronic drums and such)
Hi,
I've learn of Frets on Fire for the first time today. I know I'm a bit late... :P
I have installed successfully the original title in ubuntu (aptitude). I also succeeded in installing this version (MFH3). Where I'm currently having trouble is for the midi patch...
I currently have a Roland TD-8 sitting right beside my computer and I want to try it out with MFH3 but I'm having trouble.
In my Unbuntu install, after installing the patch I never saw any "x MIDI inputs found." in my log. This is probably because I don't have the pyrtmidi python extension installed. How do I install it?? Directly in the game folders? I find this a bit confusing...
After fouling around in my Ubuntu install I booted Windows...
I then tried a prepackaged version of the game (FoFIX v3.100 beta 2) and a midi device was detected :
Now my problem is that I can't assign my pads in the game...
Any clues?

Re: MIDI Input Patch for MFH 3 (for electronic drums and such)
Yeah - the original patch only worked for the original poster's exact setup (including which MIDI input channel was used).
I see you're trying 3.030 beta 2 on Windows - that's a good start. MIDI input support was integrated a bit ago but I have no instruments to test with. So if I come up with something else to try on this, I'll try to get it coded for 3.100 beta 4 so you can test it.

This was included in 3.100 and all later releases.
Just install at least 3.100 and you'll have it.
