If someone asks you not to use their work, doesn't that mean that it's no longer open source? While I respect the work that he has done, shame on Raph for being a code ****.
Also, since Frets on Fire is released under the GNU General Public License, that means that Raph is actually breaking copyright law by asking that his work be taken down. Under the GNU General Public License, any derived work has to offered under the same license (i.e. free to use as long as you allow others to use your code and don't charge money).

but since you can get anything I made on this same forum, it's not taken down and still free to use and opensource, just not distributed by duckmeister. If you'd only have read a bit you'd have seen that it's duckmeister who proposed to gladly remove it if we didn't want him to include it. I never asked him anything before. If I was a code ****, I would not post anything, jerk.

See, I actually can read, and it says here that YOU asked him to take it down.
Part of open source means that others can take your work and incorporate it into theirs.
So, yes, you are being a **** by asking that your work be taken out.

read better. if he proposes it, I don't think I'm wrong to ask him, if you still think that was wrong, I don't know what to say..are you going to cry or something? I mean you can include it in your mods if you want. But if you tell me that if I want, you won't include it, I'll tell you that I prefer people to get it from a place they'll get support for it by the original author. Especially when you call me a ****

And then you asked him to take your work out. The reason that the new version will not have anything that includes your work is because you specifically asked that they not be included. He didn't have to offer, and you shouldn't have asked. Bottom line, it's setback for the modding community.

And my opinion is that compilations are the setback for the modding community but I don't want to talk about this point anymore. I guess we just don't agree and I invite you to believe what you want. Next time I'll want to post something I'll remember it

Wow, thank you Fletcher.
Let me get some things straight here. Raph, he is right about the GNU General Public License. The reason I stopped arguing with you about this crap is because it was futile. You obviously are so close-minded that you can never look outside your own opinion, therefore, why should I try and make you?
Frankly, because you have decided to not let your own work be not only ADVERTISED as a great addition to Frets On Fire, but you have limited it's appeal to others. You even have said yourself, "Noobs love these kinds of kits." That's because they can use your stuff EASILY, without having some jerk getting on and saying "USE THE SEARCH BUTTON NOOB". Not only is your work credited as your work (at least in the new version...) so that people know who made that, but people can see how it would work in their own version.
You have absolutely NO REASON to say that compilations are a setback to the modding community. Look at all the stuff that compilations help the community with (above)! Just because you think that something is the way that it is, doesn't mean that you are right.
Now this is not to say I do not have any respect for the work that you have done. In fact, the whole reason why I have it in this compilation is to show my respect for your work. What in the world is so negative about that? Why do you call that a "setback"?
I really don't know what else you want from me, raph. So far, I've done everything you've asked, and all you do is flame and complain. So I've decided that I'm not going to go through with taking your work out of my mod. If you won't listen to me, why should I listen to you?
Avenged_One, what makes raph better than Fletcher? Raph has a different opinion than Fletcher, and somehow that gives you the right to call him names? How amazingly immature.
Right now, I couldn't care less what you guys have to say, because this is my compilation, and therefore I am going to do whatever I want with it. You guys can go on your spiel about how "I didn't do anything", or that "I shouldn't call it my compilation", but I've given you guys all the stuff that you've asked for. I've credited you properly, advertised your work, augmented the mod to your "standard", and it's gotten me absolutely nowhere.
Thanks to all who DO support my mod. I will give another update on the progress as soon as possible. Srk, the songs on your dvd pack rock. Thank you so much.

Fletcher is just being an ass with technicalities. You are respecting Raph's work with allowing him to say if he wants you to use it or not, but this punk wants to go and point out crap from the GNU. No, I like the idea that we publish it to use but have the right for others to not publish it if we do not wish it (especially if they said they wouldn't) but this guy is just being an ass with technicalities because he wants raph's work in this mod but he doesn't want to have to do any work to put the two together.
