Not true. You can use the whammy bar to get higher. It's just not as effective, noticeable, easy or common.

Yeah, if you want to pull the wammy up but why would you do that when you can just bend the string?

Because it looks incredible.

(About 20 seconds in)

On an unrelated note, does the whammy work in GZ? I just downloaded it and I'm using PPJoy, so I'm wondering if it only works with an actual whammy bar, since their analog, I think, and I'm outputting in digital.

i dont understand the obsession some guys have for a whammy bar feature...

there is no star power in FoF, so a whammy is 'pointless'. We should be inventing new ideas not taking or innovating already made ideas.

My opinion though...

Because holding down those long chords isn't interesting enough. We all have ADD.

Could it be that whammy bar is like the only musical feature of GH? That's it for me.

As far as other innovations go, I know there's some programs for adding effects to a recording, though I can't find them right now. At any rate, it'd be cool if we could throw effects onto the guitar.ogg, through a key. It'd be kinda crappy if you only had one keyboard, but Ive got an extra one that I set up like a pedalboard for pausing.

No.

We won't whammy just because it's fun. When I play GH, I usually don't even bother with star power.

the only problem with adding effects to the guitar tracks is that we're using full mp3/ogg tracks not individual guitar/bass/drum tracks...

so putting a whammy effect on the whole song would sound like complete @$$ and will just take away from the game.

unless u had a program to take out some frequencies on the fly ... then the guitar tracks could "possibly" be isolated... but people complain about lag as it is... this will just cause even more.

just buy the real game for the consoles if you want those extra features. be glad that we have this. don't be greedy lol

No one is demanding a people to do that. I dont care to have the musics that people do with whammy. To be true, 80% or even more of the musics made by "fans" dont have a good freetage. And is how i say you: Wanna isolate the guitar sound to do nice whammy effect at your custom song? Study sound enginnering and spent like 5 days isolating the guitar sound. simple like that. If not, just whine because people that have patience have better musics than you.
If i had whammy only at the GH musics, i would be really happy.

And im glad that i have people that did and do the FOF, as im glad that this forum exists so we can discuss mods for the great game that is FOF. If all moders had a spirit like you conforming with it we already have, RF mod and so many other great mods would not exist. Neither great ideas.
Think again lazy boy. :) Try again.

blackslasher, i didn't once say i wanted to do this (isolation of the guitar file) ... i was merely stating that if it was done, that's one of the methods you'd have to use to achieve the mod.

i agree with the 80% not being able to fret, which sucks but it's gonna happen...but they will get better as guys start getting to know how these programs work (freetar, cubase, etc..)

IDEA! It's based off, I think it was blackslasher, have 3 different guitar.oggs. Instead, you have one extra one but this one has a whammy effect that constantly goes lower and higher throughout the whole song (this can easily be done with Audacity). While playing, it just plays the normal track but when you press whammy, it mutes that one and plays the 2nd, whammified version! Not the best way to do it but I'm sure it would be possible. Still, only problem with that is disk space but it won't be as bad as Blackslashers.
