Re: MFH Mod (FoFiX) 3.0xx (v3.030)
No worries, I'm gonna eat some lunch then get back to it; I just tested on a normal Rock Band song with a BRE and the lanes showed up correctly (although not for the full length of the actual). No freestyle mode yet, just shows the lanes (and only for guitar / bass so far). I'm committing what I have so far so alpha testers can play with it and possibly make up some alternative freestyletail1.png and freestyletail2.png images. Keep in mind you may have to revert to a previous revision to be able to really see the notes during the BRE lanes, they blend in quite well.

Also, I edited the image with paint

And here is a short BRE test song for those of you who want to test this out but
don't want to play through an entire RB / RB2 song to get to it:

Progress committed in r687:
Freestyle sections (BREs only for now) will now be rendered for the entire duration instead of just up to the first time it reaches the end of the fretboard.

For those of us that have the Rockband 1 drum set and want to play the rockband 2 theme for all these cool new options and art works.. will you be able to select what drum kit you have? as you guys probably know there are no cymbols on the drunm kit 1

Re: MFH Mod (FoFiX) 3.0xx (v3.030)
Holy ****, BREs and Drum Fills! Finally! I was skeptical about using the note tail system to render those but it's looking pretty good anyway! Keep up the fantastic work dude, I look forward to playing around with it! :D
I thought this would be a good idea. Have players specify what kind of guitar/drum set they have and tell the game which controller it is. This would vastly simplify the controller setup process and may also make it easier to add support for the upper frets on RB controllers.

Re: MFH Mod (FoFiX) 3.0xx (v3.030)
No need to distinguish between RB1 or RB2 drumsets yet, we're not using any cymbal addons. I need some before that will happen.
Progress committed in r688:
---- EDIT ----
(edit: however, I am using a double bass pedal that I built for my RB2 drumset. I like it WAY better than the crap stock pedal, which triggers before it gets all the way to the floor
I plan to sell inexpensive kits for RB1 & RB2 drumsets so everyone else can use the double bass pedal and even a quad bass pedal for some heel-toe action if you'd like)
---- EDIT ----

What could also do, about a better position for the Jurgen, is not show the score, and simply position the text in the box instead and have it there. That way, it's away from everything on screen, and also placed over the score which isn't used anyway in Jurgen mode. My $.02.

Re: MFH Mod (FoFiX) 3.0xx (v3.030)
Very nice. Wish I had seen this post earlier, me and my friend would of tried it out when we were playing co-op.
Question - Why do some songs seem to have notes where the Big Rock Ending should be, and some songs don't? I know for example the OK GO song in RB1 has a bunch of quick picks in a place where the big rock ending should probably be.
I guess it would be for if you didn't have a high enough score to activate a big rock ending, you'd have to play those notes, but it seems sort of backwards.
This seems like your "notes show up during the big rock ending problem".
---- EDIT ----
I don't even really know what this has to do with what you're talking about.
The way configuring a drum set/guitar works is you use the control options to select the key for each drum/fret (Drum #1 red, drum #2 yellow, drum #3 blue, drum #4 green, and bass). Controllers show up as just another key press, but as a joystick button (as per windows/other OS).
In theory, if you have the cymbal kit for Rock Band 2, it will either show up as the same button as some sort of drum hit, or there will be a separate button you could assign to the alternate drum hit button.

Re: MFH Mod (FoFiX) 3.0xx (v3.030)
i noticed talk of a new beta earlier.
are the song previews still broken for anyone else in the alphas or just me? just thinking that might be a good thing to have working for a beta.
keep up the great work, all.
