Here's where you can find GNU/Linux full releases and patches starting with FoFiX 3.020.

My previous release and patch post is depricated.

hey i love the work you guys have done on the mod, it is at a point where it is better built than rock band itself, i do have one question though, does jurgen work on drums yet, and if not could you maybe implement this for a futere update?

It may have something to do with your ports.

Maybe not best suited here. but anyways
All RB songs has drums, Puppetz Hero 3, has some drum tracks. But that's all I know

The Super Volcanic League of Drum Fretting - The Team! You might want to look out for these guys: viewtopic.php?t=1918

What do you mean by this thing Percent and notes. In FoFiX That's on by default AFAIK. If you're running a unmodded installation then I have no idea why you posted in this topic...

I mean that

How do I add that? That isnt at me :/
I have the latest version.

about the Beatline. i noticed that even if a song is synced with feedback for example on the beatline in fof the notes are not exacly on the beatline they are not centered but before the beat line. i think the gfx of the beatline need to be put slightly backward that the notes are centered on the beatline if a song is beat synced.

you can see it on this picture on the first 3 yellow notes the first yellow note and the third one are not completly on the beatline. im not sure if this a bug or whatever but i coudnt find anything on the todo list.

I have a little problem with the last patch. The game used to be fluid as hell and now for no reason it's all laggy. I tried reinstalling the whole thing from scratch, with a blank fof.ini etc, but I didn't help. Do you know where it might come from ? :/

well it's been a while since i've posted. real life has caught up with me. anyways I'm thinking about starting to compile my binaries again. Not sure if there is a need now though with the other linux binaries available. I'm going to try and be more active even though i still don't have a lot of time to contribute to FoF.

I think you know this already but:

Will there be a fix to fix this issue?

Minimizing while in windowed mode, then trying to re-open it makes it crash.

Also

I think there needs to be a recalculation on failing (just missing notes w/ no strum)

I can go on My Name Is Jonas, not strum, and still get 16%.

Re-open it or maximize it, because I minimize then bring it back up all the time and it doesn't crash for me. If you want to open it again that by itself is problematic because 2 instances of FOF equals super lag and cpu usage thus resulting in a very slow compy.

Those are both non-issues...
1) I minimize and restore FoF often with no crashes.

2) The fail screen is showing you HOW FAR YOU GOT not how many notes you hit.... remember, 100% = not fail....

---------------
To whoever was asking how to enable the in-game stats.... "Performance Settings" -> "In-Game Stats" -> "On"

If someone wants to try and adjust the beat line images in a certain theme to match the beats exactly, then feel free. I am NOT going to spend my time making tiny adjustments to images or positions, I have much more important issues to take care of. It also doesn't bother me, the BPM lines do their job as far as I'm concerned.

Some say it's much better, some say it's worst some say they don't see a difference.

(It's impossible that there isn't any difference, look at your CPU usage when running the game).

Those for whom it's worst, what is your CPU? I suspect it is slower than mine and MFH's...
Note that i've warned that my modif in Timer.py is far from ideal and really fixing task scheduling will require much more work.
It's planned on my TODO list, see:
http://code.google.com/p/fofix/issues/detail?id=3

In the meantime, if you're got a problem, you may very well try setting "highpriority = True" in your fretsonfire.ini or remove the wait() in Timer.py...
Please report how any of those two goes.

For me, the new timer.pyo makes FoF run slower. It seems that it runs at about half the framerate as it did before. Although the frame rate seems more consistent, it just runs at a much lower frame rate (xfire's frame rate monitor has it at 60-63 but it looks more like 30, vs. 72 with vsync on and it feels more like 50). I'm attributing this to my CPU's slow speed and low cache size. I've got an Athlon X2 3800+ overclocked to 2.34 ghz. These things only come with a 512kb cache on each core, which severely kills the performance in games. Most games don't agree with dual core either.

For now, I've just copied the Timer.pyo out of 3.017's library.zip and put it inside the new library.zip and that puts the performance back at the previous version's level.

And highpriority = "True" doesn't seem to make a difference, as it was already on before I patched and the performance still went down. The CPU usage is lower though, it runs at about 55% on Core 0, vs. 100% on Core 0. Although, I'll take the higher CPU usage for higher performance any day.

Also I want to say thank you for all the work that you do on the MFH mod. I look forward to the day when FoF runs as well as GH3 on my PC :) .

I doubt that it comes from your computer. I have a very good computer and what you did solved the framerate problem i was talking about like three posts above.

@jnuz: I don't think there's a need for more GNU/Linux binairies as i already take care of 32bit and 64bit.
There's always room for distribution-specific packages tho.

Please see:
http://code.google.com/p/fofix/downloads/list

@Those w/ performance issue since my modif to Timer.py:
Note that i've already planned to fix the scheduling problems at the root:
http://code.google.com/p/fofix/issues/detail?id=3

But as it seems to cause problems for some, i'll consider removing that modif or make it optional.

Yeah I re-read my post and I see what you are saying. It did look like I was trying to say that my cpu's low speed was the cause of it all. But what I meant to say was that it was all running fine until this new patch, and the reason that my frame rate isn't much higher is because of my cpu. I have 2 Geforce 7800 GTX's in SLI so I'm certain its not my video cards, which is why I'm putting the blame on my CPU and the massive bottleneck that's holding my graphics cards back.

Glad I could help with your problem. And thanks to evilynux for the quick replies.
