Get the light version, it has fixed drum notes and frets within it, that should fix your problem, they're not fixed in gamexpert's hotfix.

you will have to wait until some one ports it to mac but dont worry i'm sure some one will when this is finished.

There is no porting that needs to be done. I really feel that I am just talking to myself when I say this:

Cause I'm on OSX & Linux... :(

As I mentioned earlier in the thread you can simply run the .exe in wine, and everything will extract fine. :)

I simply extracted to my Desktop and moved the files from there to the Frets on Fire folder.

The .exe file is nothing but a self-extracting installer. The files you need are there. If it was a program, you would need porting, but it is just a .exe file that extracts it's contents to the right directory instead of trusting the user to do it.

Linux Users: All you have to do is run the file in wine. (ex: wine pathtorockband2theme.exe)

Mac users: I know you guys can install wine, try that. Also, you can search google for 'open self extracting exe on mac'.

If that's too tough, I'll see if I can zip the RockBand2 theme in my themes folder and upload it tomorrow.

For the people reporting drum notes bug:
Open your FoF MFH-Alarian Mod folder (version v2.985 or newer) -> go to data/Themes/RbMFH and copypaste DrumNotes.png from this folder to /data/Themes/Rock Band 2/ (overwrite the one in there).

I don't play drums myself (don't see a point in playing drums without a drumset, keyboard playing sucks balls), so I missed it. Sorrey.

For the people whining about the release being an installer and not an archive. This is 2008, you know. And I personally think that it's time for Frets on Fire community to be more open for newcomers that don't spend every free minute reading through every page of FOFFF. Making an Installer (and my game Full Installers) is a step towards that direction.

For the people that whine about RapidShare hosting or humongous size (115 Mb) - use Blazingamer's Light Version hosted on MediaFire (not an installer BTW).

For the people that use Mac OS and Linux. As mentioned several times before in this thread - use Wine to extract or just download a light version.

I still have an issue with my internet so I can't provide those mirorr/different platform/arhcive links myself. Thanks to all the people who helped. Cheers.

:)

EDIT:

REA, I liked this glowing HOPOs when I played RB1 Theme. But now i think it's time for a little change.

Fluffy Taco, I'm guessing when Rock Band 2 comes out, someone buys it, goes home and makes a high quality gameplay video capture, then makes FoF animated stages from that video and uploads it here. I'm not using animated stages and I'm not really willing to spend any time making those. I made 16 static HQ background stages for this theme and I think it's pretty much enough.

Ugo,
I appreciate all the work you and the others have put into this.I have to agree with you about the drums. If I didn't have my own set of RB drums I wouldn't screw with it either.

Agreed. It's fun to play the guitar on the keyboard (fortunate enough that what's left of my keyboard lets me play 3 and 4 note frets) but I didn't even waste my time trying the drums on keyboard.
What irritates me about the drums is you have to stop playing long enough to hit the star power button you choose.
So you get the choice of screwing up your song or no star power.
And I like the star power on the drums (last I checked...my health has prevented me from playing them for some time now).It looks pretty.
I like what you and the other have done with this mod.I love playing it.

Congratulations are in order for you.MFH is going to include this mod in Alarian. You guys are doing one hell of a job.
Thanks again.

*Le sigh*

Have you guys ever felt so ignored?

Ugo, when I go to work today, I'll upload a rar file if the theme folder to mediafire or rapidshare if I don't have too much stuff to do, so you can add it to the first post--maybe people will see it.

All I'll have to do is take the files that I extracted from the installer (Read: in Linux) and put them on a flash drive.

REA, sorry because the notes are actually are not the same like RB2 same goes to RB1. RB1 doesn't have any glow hopo notes.

Eh, that's why it's called modding I guess. Some people prefer more visible HO/PO's in the game. Freedom of choice is a cool thing.

I actually used to prefer glowing notes to the smaller Rock Band notes, but the default note in the Rock Band 2 them is visible enough for me.

I think you meant this is =P. Just thought I'd let ya know. Anyhow, this is a pretty sweet mod... Are you going to change the theme after the release of RB2 tomorrow or do you pretty much have the visuals the way you want them? Then again, it seems as if not much has changed look wise compared to RB1.
Just curious... is it at all possible to download patches/hotfixes instead of having to download the full installer again? Okay I've talked enough so I'm gonna hush now... Thanks for the theme and have a good day :) .
