-.- no.
I never said implementing drums was easy; in fact I said on several occasions that it was NOT easy to get that working right.
I am not coding a new instrument, nor am I going to debug it.
If someone else gets code for a keyboard instrument working on top of everything else without breaking any of the other features, then I can look into adding it.

What's with the beta stuff? It's just different versions of Rock Band stuff...
And what's with the Pixel-Perfect MainBG? Is that what it really looks like in GH3?

the top of the RB mod looks so clean now.
thanks everyone
EDIT: actually, i do have a little question. is the scrolling text on the top is too fast for me to read so is it dependent on the BPM of the song, set on a fixed speed, or is it a little error since it's in beta?
thanks everyone

Yes, that's what it looks like in GH3. Well, using the actual graphics pieces that make up the main background. To fit the 1024x768 that is. The Original graphics are all 16x9 ratio images, which fof uses 4x3, but the MainBG isn't pixel-perfect, just the other stuff released is. I just wanted to have the real screen used instead of FoF in the name, since it's theme based anyway.

Hi, im a long time guitar hero/rock band player and finally got frets on fire up and running with this mod and ive done a lot of searching for what im going to suggest so im sorry if its been said or if its inaccurate.
a ton of people say that frets on fire is not as accurate as both guitar hero and rock band and that you miss notes you are SURE that you hit. and im pretty sure i know exactly why.
in fof (and correct me if im wrong) theres a window of time that you must press the fret button then press the strum bar, IN THAT ORDER. now. im pretty sure in both guitar hero and rock band this is not the case. they will give an allowance of hitting the strum bar first. as long as you strike both buttons within the time window its counted as a correct note.
a lot of people, especially on fast parts hit both the fret and strum bar at relatively the same time, so some of the time the strumming is hitting milliseconds before the fret button. hell, even on a real guitar when the string isnt fully pressed down it makes contact with the fret, so its not like its unrealistic or something. and isnt this trying to emulate the real games anyways?
thanks for your time, and keep up the great work.

If this is true, I sure haven't noticed it in Rock Band or GH2
I don't know why it would be true though, that doesn't make alot of sense. 99% of the time you are holding the fret button before you strum.

how exactly would you notice something thats easier to play (gh & rb)? you WOULDNT notice it going from fof to those. you DO notice it going from guitar hero to frets on fire. youve been playing fof for a long time and are used to how it works. i knew there would be resistance to this idea because so many people are used to it. but people fresh coming over from those games do indeed notice it. frets on fire is supposed to be emulating those games so why not try to make it as accurate as possible?

Ok I apologize thoroughly for posting this, because I've used FoF for a long time and NEVER had any issues with mods, installs, custom songs, anything.
But I've downloaded Alarian 2.7, the newest hot fix, and one of the Rock Band Drum packs that is on this site for download. I've only copied over ONE and only one song from that pack, Black Hole Sun. I copied the drum/song.ogg's to the Black Hole Sun directory.
I've configured all my keys in the drum/P1 config, and when I go to test the keys, everything seems to work fine. But once I go into ANY song, the keys play by themselves. None of my button presses on the guitar or drums register while actually playing the song, it's like it just plays on its own. What the heck is going on? I've went through the menus, glanced through the threads, and I'm stumped. Can someone please help me?
