There is an example set of folders in the zip file.

If you cannot make folders in windows, I probably can't help you.

This is an excellent mod! At last the huge memory leaks are gone, and the folder structure works wonderfully. As this is really more than just a mod, perhaps the changes could/should be made to the next official FoF version...?

Re the possibility to play both guitar and bass tracks (mentioned in Rogue_F's TODO): Judging by a quick peek at source, this may be doable, but the bass track scores should be kept separated from guitar scores somehow. Wouldn't this require a chance in the song.ini structure, or a separate bass.ini?

Not all the memory leaks are gone, there are still some but they are much smaller.

The bass and rhythm guitar tracks are all in the song.mid file, not the song.ini. Only GHII tracks have them, but it should not be hard to select them instead of the standard one. Adding editor support and some other things will be harder.

I've got to figure out how to get the right tracks, and then make a menu selection.

As far as including these patches I'm going to submit the patches after I release the version with the folder labels. Though the source diffs are already there for anyone who wants to use them.

No, I meant that the high scores for bass tracks need to be stored somewhere, separately from guitar high scores.

Ah, good point. Easy enough to add something new because not all songs have them. But it shouldnt break anything already existing.

The point is to make several folders and put different songs in each, acording to the alphabet, or genre, or whatever you want. Makes it easier to navigate through 200 songs :p
Its just like life. Quite interesting in parts, but no substitute for the real thing.

I think what jakeman meant was does he just put the song folders into the new folder and it will work. The answer is no.

Just like the song folders must contain the song.ini file, so does the folder. Rogue said there are example folders in there so just copy the ini file from there, open it and edit.

Obviously the name is the name of the folder. artist must stay as..

artist = =FOLDER=

so that FoF knows this is a subfolder.

cassettecolour is again, just like on songs, only this time it will set the colour of the binding on the guitar case. Hope this clears things up jakeman.

Hey Rogue, just noticed that the toggle flames on and off was in there, but when i'd mentioned it I was talking about the movement of the layers.

What I was wanting to do was have the front layer static (but still vissible) and the back layer as it is by default. Any chance of that?

Right, i'm off to play with getting folder labels working. Back soon :)

Ah, I see I misunderstood. I still think the disable is a good thing since CPU usage is less, but I also think just disabling the moving would have the same CPU saving effect. I'll investigate that.
