FOF Player (control FOF with your phone like a guitar)

Hi!

I have developed an application called Frets On Fire Player for Android OS. With this app, you hold your phone like a guitar in your hand, and you can control FOF, or even Guitar Hero with it!! Here's a video of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1CYbHf2-XI

it appears that it strums for you automatically. Its essentially turns your android phone into a RB3 keytar.

EDIT: Oh wait, I lost my WiFi router. Is there any way to make it work via Bluetooth? Or maybe I should try tethering my phone's network.

Unfortunately there's no way to play it via Bluetooth yet, but if you create an ad-hoc network between your computer and your phone, and set up the IP addresses correctly, it should work :)

Strumming: if you want to strum manually, first tick off automatic picking in the settings, and hold down a fret and press the BACK button on your phone. :)

Man, still can't get it to work. I've tried tethering via PDAnet but it's not working.
Router -> Phone -> USB Tether(via PDAnet) -> PC -> Ran the the server and open up FOF Player -> Server not found.

Only if I have the Wi-Fi adapter now, it'd be easier. I'm not sure why it can't detect the server, they're on the same network. I think I need to configure my network to make other devices share applications or something of the sort. I'll try it again later.

An idea came up to my mind but I'm not sure if this can be implemented. How about the server detecting the phone via USB debugging? I'm not sure if this would work, but if this can be done, it'd be awesome.

I think the problem is, that if your phone acts like a Wi-Fi host, somehow broadcast messages are dropped, therefore the phone does not find the server. Maybe I will write a version soon, in which you can enter the PC's IP address manually. Well, the USB solution wouldn't be bad, I'll see what can I do for you.

PS: If you have two or more phones, you can play this game in multiplayer mode with your friends, I think it's even cooler. :)

just found my wireless adapter, tested it, and it works. awesome, it's so fun but the failing system spoils the fun! and since it just send the 12345 as the input, it should work for other games right? gonna test it with stepmania. :P
