i know that you can download like music you purchased and the setlist from guitar heros or rockbands that you personally own but i was wondering about the other music on this site?

You can only legally download music that you own for personal entertainment purposes. There is a site that has free songs available though, also, the Conquest songs found in my signature are legal to download for free.

okay well right now i have all songs that i have bought on itunes or own in the guitar hero games i own on fof so is it illegal to download say, a BTBAM song i dont own but only for fof. NOT TO LISTEN TOO OR USE ON MY IPOD. that was my question cuz im just using it for the game

That'd fall under fair use, it's legal.

The fair use act allows use of copyrighted material for research or teaching purposes. You could say you are researching how to play the guitar on the songs or something.

Also, if you are really worried about legal issues, you can legally download any song from here(link).

Yes, its legal as long as you don't plan to sell out the songs for your own profit or give it as download illegally(such as torrents). You can hear it on your iPod, there're no problem, and you can play the song in FoF.

It is okay to download in this site but if you ask whether it is legal or not in the country, to be honest It really depends most of the time. It is never legal and will never be. Myself is an Android developer and have developed many apps. I noticed the upsurge of downloading applications on the internet and decided to do one. I developed a YouTube downloading app that let's you download YouTube videos and Musics free of charge. The app quickly went viral and had thousands of downloads in less than 5 days on publishing in the Google Play Store. There are many apps like clipconverter http://www.videoconverterfactory.com/tips/clipconverter-alternative.html and convert2mp3 http://convert2mp3.net/en/index.php, as you can see, most people use them, but they are still ilegal. It's just because some countries like China and India do not care much about them. But if you r in some western countries, download them secretly and do not let anybody else know...
