Settings to emulate GH3

Postby WhiteKnight » Sun Mar 22, 2009 12:21 am

Hello,

After recently playing the PC version of GH3 at my bro's, I noticed that the fretboard speed seemed to be alot slower at the same difficulty, compared to the FoFiX version of the songs that I was playing. I was wondering if anyone knows the approximate settings that GH3 uses for fretboard speed, etc, so that I can play at the same speed in FOFiX as in GH3...I've searched in the forums but couldnt find an answer. Please help!

Thanks

Wrong way around. He wants the GH3 board speed in FoFiX.

I believe it's "Set Board Speed", and set it to a high number (lower is faster)

No wonder I've been doing worse, I thought higher number was faster.
Looks like you provided useful info for two people! =D

Erm...BSRaven is talking crap again. I quote from my options list:

o Board Speed Mode. How the speed of the fretboard is calculated.
BPM & Diff: board speed depends on the BPM of the song and the difficulty setting. A 200BPM song on expert will have a very fast board.
BPM: board speed depends on the BPM of the song. A 200BPM song will have a fast board even on easy.
Difficulty: board speed depends on the difficulty. This is most like RB and GH.
Percentage: board speed is based purely on the number in Board Speed Percent.
o Board Speed Percent. How fast the board goes, scaling dependent on Board Speed Mode. Find a number most comfortable for you.
10-400.

For GH3 I would recommend setting Board Speed Mode to Difficulty, and Speed Percent to 70-100

Another thing I noticed is that I couldn't really get the HOPO rules like in GH3
I noticed it when playing through fire and flames on fofix and gh3.

does anyone know the settings for HOPO so it is linke GH3?

Unfortunately, the GH3 HOPOs in many songs were custom, and we don't have support for GH3 HOPOs right now.

i noticed that also with TTFAF, but setting the hopofreq = 0 in the song.ini seems to make it close to GH3 on Medium difficulty, dont know if having this setting in the ini will mess up the other difficulties...anyone for sure?

It will mess up hard and expert, because it will cut out nearly all the HOPOs. hopofreq = 0 is equivalent to Least HOPOs setting, which means only 32nd notes (I think) will be HOPO.

Not really. I find that leaving it at default settings works fine for most of the setlist. When it doesn't work...you just have to pay attention.
