Hello everyone,
A friend of mine bought the whole GHWT (xbox360) kit a couple of weeks ago.
We've been having a lot of fun with it!
My question concerns the wireless drums that come with the kit.
I've been searching trough these excellent forums but it seems everybody is using the RB drums (with USB)?
Does anybody have any experience with the 360 GHWT drums and the MS Wireless Gaming Receiver for the PC?
I believe that people successfully connected previous GH guitars with the help of this receiver. But no one
has ever mentioned the drums it seems.
Does it connect the drums AND a (GH3 or GHWT) guitar without any problems?
My friend doesn't own this receiver (obviously) and I might consider buying it for him if I know for sure that it works.
I really like playing the (fake) drums. And being able to play drums in FOF would be icing on the cake!
Not to mention the almost unlimited amount of great songs we could play together!
Thanks for your time!
Greets,
Ronald

Re: 360 GHWT drums and wireless receiver
It should. The wireless gaming receiver is made specifically for any Xbox 360 controller. If it's a normal controller, guitar controller, drums, anything made to be used with the Xbox 360, it should work.

Re: 360 GHWT drums and wireless receiver
Thank for the quick reply Zpj.
Yeah I noticed that the product description mentions this. "Works with all future controllers".
But I also noticed on a lot of forums that people are having problems with it (controllers not connecting etc.).
So I was hoping somebody already tried it.
It seems that the XBox360 GHWT + Drums + Wireless Receiver combo isn't something many people have at there disposal :)
Maybe I'll give it a go when I have some money to spare (it's kinda scarce right now) and then report back on this forum.
Might be a while though ;)

Re: 360 GHWT drums and wireless receiver
considering that they released a program to mess with the sensitivity for PC, I would imagine it works
But everything drums is charted with four pads so RB drums would be preferred

Re: 360 GHWT drums and wireless receiver
When will people start fretting drum songs with 5 pads then? It would be better.
Re: 360 GHWT drums and wireless receiver
well nothing supports it and no charts currently exist for it so probably not until ghwt charts are ripped

Re: 360 GHWT drums and wireless receiver
Maybe it's time people make FoFiX, EOF and dB support it, or something. It will be hard, but it would be worth it. As soon as FoFiX, EOF, and dB supports it, a lot of charts will pop up.

The socket on the drums is a MIDI IN so you cannot use the drum kit as a controller.
But as far as I know you can use it with the receiver.

If by USE you mean " any way to connect the controller to a PC " then yes there is ps3 controllers are bluetooth, so just get a bluetooth dongle and hey presto. If you mean " any way to make the game use 5 pads" then no, not without recoding the game. as far as i know anyway.
LONG LIVE THE NOOBS, THEY WILL OVER THROW US WITH THERE VASTLY SUPERIOR STUPIDITY.

Well, Phase Shift (which is better than FoF IMO) has 4, 5 and 7 drum lane support. http://www.dwsk.co.uk/
However, it's not open source and is programmed with DirectX so no Mac or Linux compatibility.
