what are - whammy-bars and pull-offs?

While looking at the posts on this site I've noticed some talk about whammy-bars an pull-offs, so as you might guess, I'd like to ask what they really are? Anybody know?

A whammy bar is a lever on the guitar that puts tension on the strings to make the notes distort. Or go here:

i'm not sure what pull offs are, all i know for sure is they're usually associated with hammer ons

I wrote out what hammer ons and pull offs are in another thread... I'd link but I dont remember where it is.
Its just like life. Quite interesting in parts, but no substitute for the real thing.

I play a guitar a hammer-on is when you play one string with one string attack and just use your other finger and slam down on to a fret infront and pull-off is a exactly opposite whammy-bar is a stick located beside the bridge you push it down and it loosens the strings creating a woobley sound
