I used to be really good at guitar hero, and I ended up selling it along with my system to buy something else, and thats when I got FOF with a guitar hero mod. Im amazing at it but whenever I go to a friends house I suck badly at guitar hero does anyone know why?

Idk its just kind of annoying that a song you just played at your house is easily beat but you cant get past the first 5% of it on the real thing.

Depends on which GH we're talking about. Alarian 2.0 with myfingershurt's hotfix 28.6 transfers over into GH3 pretty well, but to GH2 and GH1, it'd probably screw you over a bit, since FoF is more lenient in the hit window than GH2/GH1.

More lenient hitwindow, different perspective (point of view), and different angle/length fretboard.

lol

No but seriously, It's the note window. GH2 has a much tighter note window than FoF.

If you want to get real good at GH play Alarian's 2.5

This was already strongly clarified... and along with the other things I mentioned...

Last time I checked (never used any mods past RF-Mod 4), FoF was the one with the tighter note window, and people were complaining that it was much harder than GH. In fact, I got introduced to FoF as a "Guitar Hero Trainer".

Depending on what mod setup you have, the note windows are probably going to be different b/w the two games. That's why. Case Closed.

Goodbye everyone. It's been fun. I spent many many hours here on these boards and playing/contributing to FoF. Today I uninstalled my game and deleted all my files. I just don't have the time or interest anymore. I won't be coming back here anymore. I might show up in the IRC from time to time to chat. I regret nothing.

So long, farewell.

depends what Guitar Hero you are talking about. FoF has a tighter note window than GH3 I think, although they are pretty similar by rf default.

However FoF has a much, much larger note window than GH2/Rock Band. Until Alarian 2.5 of course.

and I don't think you were introduced to it as a "Guitar Hero trainer" because of it's note window...
