I don't know what's going on but my scores seem to 'over-multiply' sometimes. For example I might 100% a song with say 260k, then I go back a couple weeks later, same song, same 100% but i'll get 272k.
Anyone know what that's about?

Every now and then i'll take a look at the score as I hit the notes and seems to add a little extra on sometimes, even when i'm on x1 multipyler.

Could this be an issue with the mods i'm using? (RF & C-mod)

probably you just hold notes longer, it is part of a player's improvement cycle ;]
Keep trying no matter how annoying! ;]

Na it's not that, it even happens on notes without tails. Sometimes the first few notes of a song. I know it's not improvement because I compare my scores to those on the world charts and they are way way out in front, so I can't upload some of my scores because it looks like i've cheated.

This is after 4 notes hit on No One Knows. Why 470 and not 400? I got 118 after hitting the first note. Is this normal?

I dunno. I think fof is just stupid that way.

A theory I have is you get more points if you hit it more accurately? It's more a guess, but still.

Maybe, if you strum as early as possible you get more points? And the other way round, late strum and low score.

There's a little line like the note is held when it's really not, but they game still says it is... Even though it wasn't charted that way.... This could be why?

Yeah you guys are spot on. I tried hitting the notes late and it only gave me 100 per note as normal. But how comes it doesn't work like that on every song? Can someone try it out for me to see if they get the same thing? If it's not too much trouble of course :;):

The songs i've noticed it on so far are No One Knows and Spanish Castle Magic.

Thanx for the replies though guys. :)

My theory is that there's no such thing as a non-sustain note in FoF. RF-mod just doesn't draw the tails if the sustain is short enough, but still scores them. So when you hit the note late, you're losing out on a few ticks, but by playing the note early you're getting all of them.

On the songs in which you aren't getting extra ticks, the (invisible) tails might just be really short.

Or I could be totally wrong. It can probably be tested somehow.

EDIT: Maybe it's a bug. If the sustain is too short, it doesn't draw the sustain or score for it. But if you play it early, the game forgets to not give you ticks and gives you ticks for the time between when you played the note and when you should have played it.

Memes are so funny hahaha I'm splitting with laughter I can't control this laughter at this meme which uses a word incorrectly oh hahaha

:glare:

That was EPIC.

My songs. All made in EOF, beat-synced and note-synced, not very many missed notes.

Delirious? - Investigate (Live)

Notes got tails, as you know. Only in few songs u get 50 per note. RFmod marks cut little tails off, this is why lower score. That might show on 40-50k difference :O

You make some good points there coolguy & huski but wouldn't I have got the same scores first time around though? I mean it's the exact same song, same difficulty but I can somehow get 10-20k more points this time around.
