I'm anxiously awaiting the "root directory" upgrade. I've been holding off on doing it the hard way.

Yes RFmod has the ability to do this. But I wasn't savvy enough to figure it. I was aware of the junction tool, but was wary of it. So when I was led to believe I could do it with Mr_red's tool along with having all the other goodies he added I decided to try it out. But alas like I said with the current incarnation of Mr_red's Song Organizer it is not possible to use it for a root directory for multipal installs of FOF.

All the tool is going to do is duplicate files for them for their multiple installs.

What part about base_library can't you figure out? It's been working great for me and many others for a long time.

Since all the download URLs have expired, and people still wants it, I've re-uploaded it here:

great app mr. red!

and to answer some people with concerns about GH songs what i did was simply put them all in a completely separate song directory which would not be included in the search/sort that way, you can just switch your song directory in game... i know this is too inconvenient for most people but it works for me so i dunno. :D

Rogue_F wrote:There's a song.ini variable called 'tags'. It contains a comma separated list of tags

Here's an example from Danzig - Mother song.ini

Code: Select all

tags = GH2,set=1,song=2,cover

It has a GH2 tag, which means its from GH2 (duh) there's GH, GH2, GH280s,GH2xbox you could match on.
set=1 means it's a tier 1 songsong=2 means it's song #2 in a set
cover means it's a cover (not the original song).

What do I use these for? Well in an upcoming version of RF-mod when I implement the song database it allows for easy sorting, searching and organizing songs.

Also I can display songs and folders differently based upon the tags. Like right now I name my songs and folders for GH something like

Code: Select all

name = 2 - Mother

that way it orders it the same way GH did for that tier.

Oh Jesus, this is what I try to ask to you in your discussion rf-mod-4 post...

OK, I will be happy to see this implemented.... (in linux ;P)

PS. Sorry about the large quote, but I'm getting frustrated no to express fluently in english what I try to tell to Alex.
