So tonight I'm going to pick up the bundle for either PS3 or Xbox360, and just sell the game disc so I can get the new guitar...

Which system's guitar will work better with FoF and has more mojo? I have a 360 Explorer right now, want something more cool...

Want to play 2 player with my fiance tonight though... too impatient to wait :p

Besides, I'm a Gibson man, not a Fender guy...

I got the wireless Gibson Les Paul Guitar budle for the 360. It works perfectly with Frets On Fire. It works just as well as the X-Plorer guitar, but you will need the Xbox 360 wireless gaming receiver in order to use the guitar...fortunately I have one :)

Well if you want to do that then you are forced to get the X360 version and use the new wireless guitar and the old explorer.

No guitars sold seperatly till Feb of 2008. I have ps3 version and all is fine both versions are identical and is just a perference.

Cool, I got the PS3 one because of this post, and it works perfect out of the box.

I use the ps3 guitar for FOF and it works great, but when strumming up and down on it it doesnt respond as fast. Makes it almost impossible to play some songs on expert and get a good score on it..Still prefer the keyboard for fof....

Use a program called Joy2Key then Google "Guitar Hero Controller for Frets On Fire" and click the link for Alt-Hack.com. Follw the steps and it works perfectly.

There's also a port on the bottom of the guitar (next to the headset port) that the manual refers to as an "expansion port". It looks like a 'mini-ethernet' (don't know the actual name for it) port. Some digital cameras and other devices come with a mini-ethernet to USB cable. I have one of these cables, and I'm going to test it later.

In theory it should work. :)

P.S. The cable looks a little like this.
Goodbye everyone. It's been fun. I spent many many hours here on these boards and playing/contributing to FoF. Today I uninstalled my game and deleted all my files. I just don't have the time or interest anymore. I won't be coming back here anymore. I might show up in the IRC from time to time to chat. I regret nothing.

So long, farewell.
