Each has its benefits. Like you said, you can play a lot more songs with FoF and it's free. I like various features of GH, like unlocking songs, the career mode, the graphics, and the ability to use the whammy bar. I enjoy the reward of reaching an achievement.

I didn't vote because you didn't provide an option for both games. Both are great games in different ways and I do see a lot more possibilities and growth with FoF.

Mine was a null vote too. I like FoF because of the custom songs, well, the whole game is customisable in one way or another.

But with Guitar Hero, you never get any graphical problems, Runtime errors, notes out of sync etc, so it has a big plus point there.

So yeah, they both rule in their own ways.
Its just like life. Quite interesting in parts, but no substitute for the real thing.

hahah you're right!

I voted for FoF mainly for the same reasons stated above: custom songs and "freeness"

but I also love the modding support. While playing GH, ppl look at the animations but the player mostly look at the notes coming his way...the fact that I can modify the shapes of my notes and keys and also the neck is a big + to me"

FoF as I've never played or have GH I & II and also because of the custom songs and mod support. GH is better in terms of graphics and "the feeling of achievement".

both have their ups and downs

FoF: really customizable. thousands of songs. one day will surpass GH, one day...

GH: eyecandy everywhere. whammy. starpower. one day will get surpassed by FoF, one day...

I am better at playing FoF

The only songs i play are FoF... not GH... Except for Buckethead - Jordan.

I cant wait for a version of FoF that doesnt crash all the time.

I like FoF because it is free, opensource, customizable, and cross platform.

Guitar Hero rocks, and has really good songs though.

The current version works fine. The old one does too. It's the version in-between that's buggy.

I swear, this question is like going to Dodger's stadium and asking people, who do you like better, the Dodgers or <place you favorite team here>. Obviously, you know what kind of response you're going to get... *sigh*

what i like about frets on fire is how u can customize almost every part of the game, with guitar hero on the 360 it cost too much to get new songs and if you dont like the visuals u cannot change much

I love them all (including Guitar Zero)

I'll take as many options as I can get and don't like narrowing down to just one thing.

They all have advantages over the other.

There are so many options to weigh out - customizing, song creation, playing difficulty, graphics, price, options, etc.. etc... Not one of these games has everything - so it is nice to have a mix of everything in the 3 or 4 different programs that are available to us.
