Converting GH3 tracks to FOF - New format used in GH3 ?

Hey YMS:
#2) Manual HO/PO would make a lot of sense here. In GH1/2 a HO/PO was assigned automatically to notes that are shorter than something like a 1/16th note (cant remember the actual threshold). The key is that they depend on the song tempo and as we have seen, the new QB format doesnt seem to have anything resembling a tempo track. No tempo, no automatic HO/POs. The closest we have to a tempo track are those measure timestamps I pointed out.
#3) In GH2, there was a different version of the song for single player or co-op. This was because the mix had to be done differently. There are only 89 IMF files, so I suspect that there is only 1 IMF file per song (plus some extras for training etc.). This means the QB tablature may also have to encode what track you are controlling and switch tracks on the fly (like when you take both lead and rhythm parts in single player in some GH2 songs).
My tests dont match up with yours on the tablature though.
The first DWORD looks to me like timestamp because it counts upward continually. Also, the values are much too small to be milliseconds or samples. I think they can only be XA frame numbers.
The second DWORD might be a note length, I'm not sure yet. That would make sense though.
The third DWORD is the note flags. 1 bit per flag. This is used to select what frets to play. It probably also encodes star notes, HO/POs, etc.
Once I convert more midi QB files to XML, we will have a better view of how all of these fields work.

I took what I could find of the battle in GH3 and recreated it. I'd say about 90% is the same as it is in GH3. It is a little off in the very beginning, but regains sync at the GR chords during the verse.
He just copied it, not ripped.
Ah, ok, that makes sense.

Would be really helpful if someone posted more .mid.qb files. I assume this goes for other techies aswell. As for the discussion on Score Hero it gets side-tracked too much, I'm following this one.
There's only one file format that needs urgent attention and that's .mid.qb.

This might be off-topic, but i just came to a realization.
Any guitar player here should know what Finger-Soloing or Finger Tapping is.
So..... why not put it to use?
It could be the perfect tool for beating the intro to that DragonForce song on guitar hero 3.
This has probably already been thought of, but who cares? xD
I'm glad i thought of it on my own. xP
Anyways, is the converting software going anywhere?
If it is, do we have any estimates on when the GH3 songs will be available?

about the "finger soloing" part: if you mean hammer-ons and pull-offs, look at a GH2 manual, and then watch the video again. major ho/po going on.
