To connect the PS3 Guitar to the computer you need:

1º An Bluetooth adaptor and Bluesoleil

2º Or a PS3 to PS2 adaptor and a PS2 to USB adaptor

3º If you have the wii guitar and the wiimote you only need the bluetooth adaptor and blue soleil

4º If you had de X-Ploder: Well done, is the best to connect to the pc and you will have the drivers easily xDxD

5º If you had the wireless PS2 Guitar (my model is the Les Paul Gibson from GH3) you only need the PS2 to USB adaptor. I have it and the only problem is that the whamy bar doesn't work. If I make the whamy work, the other controls turns unstable so I'm f*cked xDxD. Even I can't use the whamy bar, the controls are good :D and thanks to the guitar and alarian mod I can complete Through The Fire And Flames xD I bought the guitar for 34€ (from Korea), around 50$, only the guitar (in Spanish stores, here in Huelva, you have to buy the complete kit: Guitar and Game for 99€ (too much dolars xD)) so, compared to the original price, my guitar is cheap xD

Are you sure of this? I read somewhere that a ps3 guitar connects directly to the computer via usb, isnt that true?

So I went to my mates place last night and tested out the X-Plorer guitar and it rocks! I love it!
my next guitar will be a wireless GH:WT guitar if they bring one out .. I just hope FoF or any of the mods will support the slide bar on the guitars.

i have TheAntcommands Double Range Wireless guitar (ps2/ps3) from amazon, it works well. the reciever comes with both a standard usb plug and ps2 plug. Instantly detected under linux. Need to find a use for the effects switch and whammy bar ;) but the tilt sensor also works for striking up the star power.

I have also seen these guitars in my local HMV

I bought an official PS2 wireless guitar hero guitar for £8 on ebay (plus an extra £8 for transport, so a total of £16 = $24), and a dual PS2 to USB adapter. my mate has another wireless guitar that's just the same: as soon as everything arrives I can tell you how it works.

What distro are you using? I'm using PCLinuxOS 2007 and it's not picking up the acceleromter / tilt sensor.

yes that guitar works out of the box and IT INCLUDES THE USB ADAPTER!!!!
however there are two problems i have with this.
1.The tilt sense does not work. =[
2.I bought mine for $40 and they seem to be $50 there check a gamestop if there is one near you.

I just received my PS2-USB adaptor, so I can use my Wireless PS2 guitar. It works like a charm, no need for X-Padder, Gamepad companion, or programs of the like, just plug and play, configure the keys, and play. The only problem is that my scores haven't been as high as I hoped lol, playing on the keyboard is a lot easier, but definitely not as fun.

For the tilt sense you have to configure the button of FoF, where it says "starpower" hit enter and when it asks you to press the key you want just make the same move as you would activate the star power on GH, FoF will recognize it instantly and then all will be working fine.

I have tried my new xplorer 360 and its the BEST!!!! highly recommended!
