GZ2 can use midis too.

The problem with GZ is that the perspective is totally wrong and the note window is way too big. It feels really icky to play after playing Rock Band or GH2 or even Frets on Fire.

I like the perspective. GZ2 is superior...closer to RB or GH games than FoF.

Every patch seems to take the game further in the wrong direction. Beta 5 made the already way-too-big note window EVEN bigger, and annoying bugs from the first beta haven't even been addressed.

FOF = win all. Free and plays with keyboard. That, and it's harder than any of the GH games. I've played for awhile now and anything on the official games is becoming too easy these days. On here you have custom songs that could make most GH players **** their pants. The smaller note window also requires you to be more exact with your playing.
It's all around a harder game and it's created a community online that most of us have devoted many hours to. It's something more to do than just the game. Modding it and seeing how you can make it better is the last step in FOF's direction and the ease of how to get to doing it makes it appealing. Who hasn't ever though that it would be cool if a game had one thing or another added to it...FOF is just that, open source and ready to be changed for the better.
FOF will be here long after GH is dead. The hardcore fans will continue to mod and change the project untill it's a different game entirely (while GH stops being produced due to it losing its popularity.), something that I actually would enjoy more than seeing more GH and RB mods. I can't say this last thing will happen any time soon, but it will happen, as it happens with ALL fads in gaming.

I agree with monk FOF is as good as GH except no moving BGs or whammy but almost anyone can mod FOF me and my bro can change almost anything and I am a toal noob cant say the same for GH can yah

you can play GH3 PC with a keyboard. You can also play GZ, GZ2, and unsigned with a keyboard. But plastic guitar will always be superior.

It is not harder than any of the GH games because they have the potential to have customs charted by morons all the same.

The note window is possibly a bit smaller than in GH3, but it's larger than in GH2 and Rock Band.

You're kidding. Frets on Fire IS GH. GH dies, FoF dies. But most likely neither will ever die. Hopefully the GH series will end soon but Rock Band will live on.

The Madden series has been making sequels every year for nearly 20 years and people still buy the games

So ADURO.. just to clear this up, which are you saying you like best, FOF, GH , GZ or rockband?? coz you seem to switch from one side to the other, arguing how one is better than the other, but then defending it? your not an easy guy to follow..

Oh and the Madden series is only REALLY popular in america ( seeing as its American Football ) Kinda like the deer hunter games, They dont even stock that in the stores here in england. Nobody would really buy it. The sales of madden games have been terrible for years over here, they lost there appeal a long time ago.

I kinda see FOF/GH going the same way as DDR/Stepmania They lasted for ages till the next great thing came out, then MOST people just dropped it like it was a turd on fire!! you still have a few "Die Hards" who still play DDr like its a religion, but most have stuck there DDR mats in a closet somewhere!! Personally i think as soon as the next great game/Addon toy comes out people will start moving away from the whole " pretend your a rockstar " idea! there just sheep they will go with whatever is popular at the time.

True... could go more to the FIFA or NHL... as I believe they've sold alot more worldwide... and they're still selling...

FoF is better than GH because (this has all been said before):
1) Lower system requirements - I read on a CPU videogame website that they tested GHIII with their best CPU and it was super laggy. Even with the quality and all that other fancy-schmansy stuff on low/off.
2) Superior customizability
3) Better songs (because you can get pretty much any song you've ever dreamed of!)
4) It's free! :laugh:

I'm not sure if this is true, but I saw on ultimateguitar.com that Guitar Hero IV is going to have a microphone and drum peripherals. I don't think it's even going to be called Guitar Hero.
